Unfortunately the questions aren't for me ,but for a friend who's transferring here...She just got approved for FV and her husband is up for transfer here..Once he gets here, are they able to immediately schedule for a FV or do they have to wait a specific time frame? Does he schedule it or does she? How's the housing,(raggedy, clean, etc.?) How's the food & where does it come from,(a local grocer or a packaging company?) Any info is much appreciated...

My husband and I have only had one FV so far, and it was at PVSP, but I think the approved items list is the same:
You definitely need to bring your marriage certificate with you to the FV (original, not a copy)
Only enough clothes and personal hygiene items for the duration oft he FV (approximately 2 days)
Everything must be new, new in package, including makeup.
All hygiene items must be in clear bottles/packages.
You can bring your own towels (2 bath, 2 wash, 2 dish), and own sheets. Full/Queen.
Bring dishwashing soap (must be new and in clear bottle), and a single dish sponge in original package.
You should pack everything into a clear or soft cloth bag no larger than 36"x26"x24".
If you have any other questions about FVs that I may be able to answer, don't hesitate to message me.
Congratulations on your marriage!

My husband is being moved to Calipatria on Wednesday and I have maybe an odd question but neither of us know the answer.

We had put in for a family visit at KVSP but it hasn't gone through. I sent in the money and everything. With him being transferred, is the money on his family visit trust account going to follow him or do I need to contact KVSP?

Now, for part 2 of my question...How long does it take to get a family visit at Calipatria. My husband and I have been married since June and have not yet had the opportunity to spend that quality time together!

I haven't had those but I heard ur limited to what u can take. But every Cali prison has there own rules from what I been hearing too. Like at Jamestown u can't take no hairspray or anything electrical. Make up is limited but before u go they should have send u a packet with a list of things that ur able to take.

I'm waiting on our paperwork but from the last prison we were at. No electronics (hair straightner, blow dryer etc) all make up has to be new and factory sealed. Bring your own sheets, towels, kitchen towels, dish soap. Nothing with alcohol. That's all I can remember off the top of my head. But like the previous post said every prison is a little different. They'll send you a list.

Hm that's a good question but I honestly doubt it. Haha yea I feel you.. I'll look like the cowardly lion from the wizard of Oz without my stuff but I really doubt our husbands will mind lol. I'm thinking of getting a Brazilian blowout right before though so it can be at least a little calm lol
