Default New to all this

My fiancé is in county jail waiting to be transferred to Oakdale. I’m really having a hard time with all this anyone who can help with advice would be great. He’s got two 5 year sentence he got revoked on and 6 year new charge. How long is “normal”. I’m not too worried Bc he’s done 8 1/2 years fed time. I just love him so much and am making myself sick. Will me and my daughter be able to visit him? I am on probation for a few more months.

Hi there! I hope his sentences are concurrent, that "shortens" the time he'll be gone My Mr & I were always glad when he transferred from county to prison...there is so much more for them to do in prison, and more freedom of movement.

You'll need to speak with your PO and get permission to visit while you're on probation - if you're co-defendants, the answer, most likely, will be no The facility will deny you, at least at first. When denied, you'll have to write the Warden and request a reconsideration of the denial. Include a letter from your PO giving you permission to visit with your letter to the Warden.

I'm glad you found us Keep your chin up, and Welcome to PTO!

Thank you for your response. My po has allowed contact between us since I've never really been in trouble before and I've followed all the requirements. I am literally only waiting to get my fines paid off. I mean I understand if I cant go see him. I'm just completely heartbroken thinking we arent going to be able to talk or write.

Even when My Mr & I were denied visits we could still write & talk on the phone....we even had a couple of video visits! Hopefully the Warden will approve you to visit when you appeal and have a letter from your PO

Well he got transferred today to oakdale. Now I just wait. I'm so sad but I know how miserable he was in county. Hopefully I don't have to wait a whole month to talk to him.

Yea!! My Mr & I were always so glad when he went from county to prison ...because: County time really, really sucks. Locked in a pod with at least 7 other dudes 24/7 for days. This particular county facility had little to no programs / classes and/or jobs; rec time was maybe a couple of hours a couple times a week - if weather permitted. Prison = classes, programs, job, yard time, more / better commissary, etc.

Look at it an important milestone, one more step in the journey before he can come HOME

This is exactly what he told me before he left. I got the last letter he sent from county today and I hope I get one from him soon. I’m trying my best to keep my head up through this.
