Default I have been very ill

Hi. I haven't been on here in so long, i forgot my password. I am doing pretty good now as far as not having that idiot user in my life. We have not spoken since May. He did call a few times in September, right when my college financial aid was coming. Imagine that! I didnt answer his calls. I did end up very ill. I just got out of the hospital. I ended up having an infection called Klebsiella pneumoniae bacterium, a superbug. It is in my kidneys, my bloodstream (sepsis) my spine between L3 and L4 and i had pneumonia. It almost killed me. When you come that close to death, you look at things through a whole new perspective. I am lucky to be alive thanks to the right doctor and an Infectious Disease specialist, and thanks to God! Just an update.

Holy Crow! Glad you're better now, EZ. Does this miserable bug tend to recur?

It better not! I am on a heavy does of a stron, nasty side affect s antibiotic thru the new year. The infection Klebsiella tends to mutate, but thank God the antibiotic is working. In the hospital i was on 3 antibiotics and was given morphine for the pain in my back. I am still fighting it, but i am doing better.

I'm sorry for what happened to your health, but glad that your doctors were able to figure out what was causing your symptoms. I hope you will be totally cured soon..

Thank you. Not quite completely cured. Still fighting it. Still in pain from the infection in my spine, but out of hospital and doing better.

Good to hear you're mending and hoping that all stays headed in that direction. Being in the hospital for a long periods of time is never any fun but it sounds like it was just what you needed

Glad to see your check-in.

Klebsiella is a very nasty infection. Being diabetic, it put my #'s so high i went into DKA. The Infectious Disease doctor isnt sure which came first, my kidney infection or my pneumonia, bit which, spread to my bloodstream and the my bones. I do feel better, but still in pain. My breathing is way better. I no longer hurt when i breathe.

I am not sure how i contacted it. It is not a very common infection. People with compromised immune systems get it and usually not healthy people. I am diabetic. I actually could have contracted it from a different ER that i went to with Bronchitis. We will never know

Being diabetic is enough to cause one to pick up things. I know I'm sick more than anyone thinks I should be...

I am so sorry you have gone through this.

Thank you. At least i am starting to feel a little better. I hate diabetes. Such an awful disease if uncontrolled. Getting a pretty good hold on my numbers now. Thank God.
