IDAHO Prison & Criminal Justice DiscussionsTopics and conversations dealing with the State of Idaho - Department of Corrections, Criminal Justice System, Prisoner & Family Support, News & Information, etc.
My fiancee is going to be released in 10 months if she gets parole (DUI conviction). I'm a felon (20 years ago, civil rights restored). Does anyone have a list of the typical conditions of parole? We want to stick to the rules (for her sake), but we want to get married. Has anyone had first hand experience with this in Idaho?
Most states would forbid this while she's on parole, but every state is different. If anyone knows a PO that's not a dick that I could call, that'd be fantastic.
You're right, every PO is different and some are more lenient than others. Provided you knew her before her incarceration, played absolutely no part in the behavior that led to her incarceration, are employed and can be a positive influence in her life I'm going to venture a guess that most (maybe not all, but most) PO's would simply wish you both a long & prosperous life. A few might want you to wait 6 months or so. Then there are the ones that say "Uh, hell no." All you (she) can do is ask. And I advise that she ask her PO, if not the very first meeting after release, at least at the second one. ♥ Congratulations! ♥
