Default Covid19 and High Risk Heart Patient question

My husband is looking at a possible Minimum Mandatory of 25 years. He was arrested May 2019 during a drug bust- that was so hyped up and blown out of proportion -that it was on World News Tonight.
Out of 100 arrested 70 plus have been let go with cases dropped.

He is currently out on bond for over a full year.

He has a very aggressive criminal attorney- but everything has been on hold due to courts being closed due to Covid.

He has had two open-heart surgeries due to a dissected aorta. The doctors said he was not supposed to live through either incident.
He is considered high risk for Covid.

Is there any chance that he could get Home Co confinement or a type of Compassionate Release before trial?

As his case is ongoing, you will have to speak to his attorney about this.

Since his case is in such an early stage, his lawyer knows the possible sentencing options available for him, through a plea agreement, or after a trial. If he ends up being "guilty", his presentence investigation report, prepared by a US Probation Officer, is critical, so including information about his recent health problems is extremely important.

He is out on bond - compassionate release and the like are not remedies available for somebody who has not been found guilty.
