Default Covid lockdown blues

My wife's handling our lack of visits reasonably well. I think she is, anyway. She's good at keeping a stiff upper lip and putting up a good front for me. It's sometimes hard to tell when something's bothering her during a 15-minute phone call. I haven't figured out any way to make up for loss of our together time. How are you and your wife or sweetheart handling the Covid lockdown?

It's tough for sure not being able to see them. My wife and I talk daily so that is, at least, a good thing. I am guessing we won't be able to visit until probably Feb or March timeframe as the COVID was introduced and went rampant in her facility. She got it, but, she is doing fine.

Glad she's OK. You're probably right about the potential time frame for getting visits back. I think they'll keep the lock-down in place until everyone has been immunized.

What is weird to me is any immunizations offered at my wife's place are optional. The inmates do not have to get them if they don't want them.

Making immunization voluntary might be a legal maneuver to avoid suits by inmates claiming they were involuntary medicated. My wife and her cellie will be the first in line to get the shot.

Some days are very difficult. Others I can't take it and end up crying. I joined this community to have people that understand to lean on. I write a lot, purchase magazine subscriptions for the both of us, and even had a photo shoot to have professional pictures to send. No one knows the pain until they have walked down that same road.

I hope you found the empathy and support you need here. I have.

It most definitely helps. Thank you to everyone on here. Group hug!
However, sometimes nothing is enough. If that makes any sense.

It makes sense. Nothing can take the place of having them at home.

Do it together, one day at a time.

Frustrated but having relocated closer, I look forward to visiting (someday!) without the long commute!

How are you?
