They have strollers there.

Default Drug Tests prior to visiting

I was just reading the info on VPASS and it said that in April 2015 they would be doing "random" Electronic Drug Detection" as part of visitor processing. Do they still do this? Has anyone that's visited gone through this?

What is it? Is it like at the airport where they will swab your hands?

The times I've gone sometimes they do it and sometimes they dont. Its random and they wipe your hand and put that in a machine that tests for drugs. You it showed that you did have traces of drugs they would strip search you but I dont think they're allowed to do that anymore but i think they still take you into a room.

The best thing to do is to wash your hands after submitting your pass and then don't touch anything - no money, no door handles, no pens, nothing...They do a similar type of drug test in the Feds, but only they would swab your pockets and shoes (just doing way too much), anyway, it was the ION Scan Machine and it was highly inaccurate.

I had sprayed some perfume on the inside of my wrists right before visiting, got tested and denied my visit because the test came back positive for opiates - never knew that was in the perfume I was wearing. So I drove over 3 hours to visit my brother and had to turn around and drive right back (they wouldn't allow you back for 72 hours)

That sucks - sorry to hear you made that trip for nothing. What is a person to do...so many things that can trigger a positive swap like that...happened to me at an airport once, and I figured it had to be a body lotion I had used that morning.

Yeah it did...best thing to do is fill out your form and then go wash your hands (real good with just warm water you don't know what's in the soap) and not touch anything after that - especially money, don't lean on the counter, don't touch a pen, etc. you never know what someone else has on their hands and trace amounts get picked up on the test...and you're screwed. Can't even trust hand sanitizer - it has alcohol and fragrance in it

The Feds played it cold though, they would swab the insides of your pockets and the bottom of your shoes.

So I have a lot of questions about getting approved to visit at HDSP. I was released from a county jail in November 2016. I was arrested for a PC 187 but ended up pleading to the lesser charge of PC 245. I was then released on OR pending court. So as of now I have pled out to a felony but have never been to prison am not on parole or probation and am not sentenced. On the visiting form it asks for all arrests and chargers. However I'm confused because I have only one arrest but ended up with different charges. Any suggestions on how I should fill out the form???? I was thinking of writing a letter along with my visitation forn to the warden explaining all of this. Is that a good idea? Will the letter get to the warden if I send it with the form?? PLEASE HELP I REALLY WANT TO VISIT MY FIANCE

Does anyone know how long visits are suspended for due to inappropriate touching? And what needs to be done in order to get them back?

Did you receive paperwork from the facility saying how long the suspension is for ?
I thought that was part of it, that they give you paperwork.
Or maybe it will be mailed to you, not sure.
Hopefully someone who knows will chime in here....

They should have given you paperwork stating how long the suspension will be. You can call visiting and check. A friend of mine lost visits for excessive touching for 6 months and had to reapply and write a letter to the warden requesting her visits be reinstated after the 6 months.

Usually orientation is 1-2 weeks. You can visit behind glass while in orientation but you need to call and make an appointment. He should be able to have contact visits after orientation and you can make your appointment on vpass.

Does anyone know the extension for the visiting department? I'm trying to find out if I have been approved/denied for visiting?

Thank you ---
