Default Need Information About Dimaya v Lynch

Can anybody please give me more information about Dimaya v Lynch case? My LO told me that he's about to give his time back of Dimaya v Lynch case come through. He also told me the day that he won his appeal and also gave a lot back on his sentence. Thank you so much in advance.

Google it, and/or Sessions v Dimaya. It was a 9th Circuit case (States located on the West Coast) that is waiting to see if the Supreme Court decides to hear it, or not.

Thank you so much. What happens if they do decide to hear it?

Supreme court rulings cover everyone in the US. The circuit courts of appeals rulings are not as powerful (there are 11 of them). Not that this isn't a good thing, it is, even more-so if the Supreme Court doesn't accept the case.

If the Supreme Court takes the case, then whatever way they rule becomes the law of the land. If they don't take it, they can simply stand silent or they can send it back for re-adjudication in the same court it came from. That particular outcome would be the slowest to come to finality.
