Default Charlotte County Jail and Glasses

Hey guys, my boyfriend is in the Charlotte County Jail and we're trying to figure out a way to get him glasses. He has poor vision and has been struggling. He doesn't have his prescription and they won't give it to anyone but him.
Do any of you have any ideas for what we can do? I live with his mom and step dad, so if they're able to help, let me know and they'll be all over it

Since he is in jail, will the optometrist fax or mail a copy to the jail's medical? Is he a state inmate? If so, the jail may (may / might - might not) transport him to the optometrist to order / pick up his actual glasses. If he's a county inmate or has yet to be sentenced, transport to the optometrist is most likely out of the question....but if the script is sent to the jail, maybe your boyfriend can then mail it out to you.

He's waiting to be sentenced and his next court date isn't until July 30. Sigh.
I called yesterday and they need a release to be signed but I was asking as if it's for myself (just to see what the process is) and didn't mention he's in jail. I'll call again Monday and tell them he's in jail to see what they can do. He was living on the other side of the state last time he had his eyes checked... nothing can be easy, can it? Haha

An added complication is that most optometrists won't honor a prescription if it's more than 2 years old Hopefully he's gotten a new script in the past 2 years.
