Smile Help with Cards

I know about cards for our incarcerated loved ones. But I am having an issue with finding information on how to go about sending them. Can I buy just a random say, birthday card and send it to an inmate? Or is there specific rules?
Wanting to send to Potosi.

I was told that we could buy a random card at a store, but it couldn't sing or say a recorded message. Or play any type of sound. Hope that helps.

Also, no glitter, no stickers, no moving parts, no staples or paperclips...just plain jane cards. Some states have gone to no colored envelopes, but I'm not sure about Missouri.

EDIT: I did find a little info on their DOC page:

Quote:
What can be sent with letters?
Up to five, 8½ x 11 enclosures may be included with each letter. Enclosures may not
contain depictions of gang activity, tattoo patterns, be sexually explicit or contain
other inappropriate content. Stamps and stamped envelopes cannot be included in
mail sent to an offender.
On Jan. 1, 2015, family and friends of offenders incarcerated within the Missouri
Department of Corrections were required to send pictures and personal correspondence
in separate mailings. Only film-processed photographs or digital copies are permitted.
Pornography and full nudity are not permitted.
