I'm sorry for the initial denial. I know how hard that can be for everyone involved. I hope and pray you have success with the Supreme Court. The appeals process can suck the life right out of you at times. Be cautiously optimistic along the journey. =)

It's been almost one year since the video conference and since he then submitted his paperwork to the supreme court...still waiting..nothing has happened. Yet. Can not believe his tenacity and confidence after 21 years of this and he is always quick to remind me that it all comes from the Lord...

The waiting is so tedious!! LOL all this-from the letter and visits to the appeals-SO MUCH waiting!! He shared that there was a 1% chance his appeal would even be reviewed, so we're super excited that it is being reviewed right now!! I surprised him with a visit on Friday : ) and we talked about it all.. it's hard to not get excited and want to plan for the future, his release!!

Just wanted to share...We are still waiting to hear something...It's only been 6 months since he was informed that his case was under review, but he remains hopeful and is also following legislation in regards to LWOP cases for those who were 18-21 at time of crime. He is such an inspiration in his hope and persistence. I actually got to visit him yesterday-a surprise visit!! Words can not explain how wonderful visits are and every visit is like the first! lol : ) Praying and waiting for change...

Ya'll been working on this a long time. Hopefully it'll pay off with a Homecoming.....Surely, after what? 22 years inside? they can let the man go HOME. Sending all sorts of positive energy for strength, hope, perseverance and a patience for you both

Just a little update...D has not heard about his appeal lately, BUT has gotten news that there may be a favorable decision for lifers without parole ages19-20 (which includes him!!) He has even received paperwork from the courts in regards to this already!!!! So crazy and doesn't feel/seem real. Nothing is for sure yet, but wanted to share this update. Can not believe change actually could/can/is happening! : ) yay!

Since Pennsylvania leads the world in the number of life sentences, without the possibility of parole, imposed on juveniles, hopefully the US Supreme Court's JLWP decision will have a positive influence on D's case, and soon.
