Email is up and running! We are excited. It is like a new toy.

It definitely helps when he cannot get the phone in the evening.

I love the email system!! It is what keeps me going!! Although hubby has said they shut that and the phones off sometimes as punishment it's never lasted long or affected us much yet thankfully.

Yes, my thought exactly. No video visits though. Eventually, I'll be able to send video grams, but i cant figure out how to send a picture yet. Ha!

I think we each sent like 5 emails today. We will go though too many stamps if that is the case. He said it is just because it is new.

He can go to the kiosk 5 times a day, which includes uploading other content. So, he knows he will need to manage time right.

He thought an email he wrote disappeared that he composed from his cube. Re wrote it and I got both when I uploaded them. So, we are figuring out slowly.

It was just nice to say good night after 7 pm. Lol

We got nothing except calls and with him working and me living in a different time-zone it’s sometimes aggravating but... what the heck...it is what it is.

I love the email system too.. but thats the only thing about it, it takes like 2 hours to receive a message and about another 1-1/2 hour for him to get ur reply (depending on who's controlling emails at that time). My drive is 7hr each way so this helps a lot!!! Between emails phone calls and an occasional letter or 2, We R living the life

So far it has been pretty immediate. Just figured out how to send a videogram and picture. Ha!

That I can imagine is the hardest thing for you. I would hate to live in such a vastly different time zone.

Yeah, it does get on my nerves but we've been doing this for over 4 years and I had to seriously lower my expectations. Nothing compares to an "outside"-relationship, it gets hard but most of the time I do appreciate my freedom

Ha!! Feel blessed. Ours take 1.5 to 2 days.

So far all emails have been immediately received. Pictures and videogram sent at 930 am he didnt get yet.

He can only send out when he plugs into the kiosk. This is when he sees them too.

It is nice add to communication.

I just got the email that he has emails now, I bought stamps and sent one right out. Only get to talk to him once a week so this will be great! Just have to wait for him to get his tablet or go to the kisosk. He probably doesn't even know he has email yet.

They get to go on the kiosk 5 times a day. It works pretty well.

Two nights ago, I discovered e-mail by JPay and bought and sent him 5 stamps. He immediately sent me a msg. and I was so surprised. He was using the Kiosk at that time and it really made my night!
He can't figure out how to open the attachment pics I've sent. I told him to click on the numbers next to where it says Attachments. He may not be able to see it if it's small and he is not using glasses. Or perhaps the Kiosk doesn't show but the tablet he will be getting might download the pics???

Anybody know?

I love jpay for the email too. Especially since he now works and is not able to call me when he's free due to my work schedule. We only talk on the phone on weekends, which at least keeps the phone expense down. I just honestly wish he wouldn't send an attachment with every letter because it uses a stamp. Not that it's a problem keeping up on his stamps, I just think it's a waste. I told him and his response was that he likes sending them because it gives him the feeling that he's giving me something to show how much he appreciates me. But sometimes I forget to look at it. He asks if I liked the "card." Then I have to tell him when I didn't look. I trief just saying "yes." But he'll sometimes ask me whst did it say. Lol. I just want him home.

it is awesome.. How long do the video grams take to approve? Do they automatically get a free reply when we send an email , or only when we send a paid reply? It is not a big deal since we aren't struggling but I am still trying to figure it all out..

They dont get a free reply. You have to send a prepaid stamp or transfers a whole bunch of stamps. Then, they can write at any time when they go on the kiosk.

Videongrams seem to take 6 to 24 hours to approve. Pictures can be instant or a few hours. Emails alone seem to be within a few minutes. We put times on our emails because we know there is a lag.

He doesn't have email or video calls at his facility. I really wish he did. I would give anything for a video call. I haven't seen him since March 20th. I miss seeing him so much.

Me tooooo. We lost ours at the end of April. I haven’t seen mines sweet face love or in person in almost seven months

It’s so hard.... he sends me pics every two weeks now and I send pics of everything, everyday shit. I can’t wait til this chapter is over.

That really sucks sorry. I'm going to have him send me some pictures. Maybe that will help. I've been struggling lately. We actually met at work so I was used to seeing him 8 hours a day there.

I hope you guys get to see each other soon.
