We write letters every single day, we visit, but no phone calls. He's in ad seg and only gets 1 phone call every 90 days. That 5 minute phone call needs to be with his children. I'm a big girl, I can handle it.

Lately we've been doing a video visit every Sunday morning and he calls me right after that so we can continue to chat for a bit. During the rest of the week we write jpays every other day and usually we handwrite a longer letter once a week on every other week.

Well we are in the Honeymoon phase I guess! LOL We jpay several times a day. I put some sort of correspondence in the mailbox for him every day Mon-Fri (usually a letter sometimes a card), Once a week he gets a goodie pack- magazine articles, Sunday comics, puzzles (he loves sodukus), Bible studies, random printable art pieces from the web etc... And he has just gotten me addicted to telephone calls today (just got approved) but unfortunately its time to pay the pied piper which includes 30 days of phone restriction starting in two days so I'll be jonesing!

We talk on the phone daily. We usually get close to a hour or more in each day. I send jpay only if there is something that happens that he needs to know quickly and don't want to wait for the mail to finally catch up to him. We send letters a couple times a week to each other and they are no less than 3 pages (his but he writes do small). That's not counting our monthly special visit because I live in Kentucky and he is in Texas....so that weekend I get 8 hours with him. You would think we would have much to talk about with as much communication as we have but we never fail to have something to say...

Nowhere near enough. There's never been consistent phone calls. And after he was sent to seg on Christmas Eve for something he didn't do and then put in a different cell house once out of seg, we've been cut off from one another more than ever. I've gotten 2 phone calls since 2017 began. He can only email once per week now as well. I don't write. He doesn't write much anymore because I don't. We communicate through visits. I visit every Sunday.

I write pretty much every day. She writes about once a week and calls me several times over the weekend or during the week if she's able to.

EVERY day! I told him that it is so expensive that maybe we should talk less. Neither one of us has something major to say each day. We usually talk about our workouts or what we ate. That can wait. He agreed but then said, "I will talk to you tomorrow" at the end of our conversation. I suppose we will stick to every day. :-/

My guy has Corrlinks, and for the first month and a half it was the only way we communicated. Even when he was pushing for phone calls, I was putting it off out of nervousness and just because I felt like emails were enough! But everything changed once we had our first call. There's nothing like being able to hear his voice and communicate in real time, it makes me feel so much closer to him. Now our emails have dropped off dramatically because we have 2-5 calls per day, but I do think it would be smart to maintain that written communication as much as possible. It has its own advantages. Calls are great, but they're only 15 minutes long and sometimes it's hard to get past general chatter in that short span of time. In writing, we were able to express ourselves more deeply. I think that even if you find calls to be more satisfying, you should never let go of letters/emails because every method of communication has its own perks.

I agree... We currently speak once a day most weeks, sometimes twice a day depending on the money situation - but I must admit that this has made both of us a bit lazy when it comes to writing. There were times (during the past 3 years) where all we had was letters, and as tough as that is, it is also very rewarding somehow...a good, long letter is amazing to receive and also to write. A 15 minute call is a 15 minute call and you can barely touch a subject before the call is over. I do wish we had e-mail, that'd be so nice

He doesn't get phone calls, so letters and cards is it.
