Default Help with locating an inmate in Tutwiler

I'm trying to locate a Marsha Kay Fant Pettis who is serving time at Tutwiler Prison in Wetumpka Alabama. Anyone with information on how I can communicate with her please respond, giving her username or whatever info you might have. Your help is greatly appreciated.

If you go to this link you can key in her first and last name and it will return the information that you are looking for.

You do not need the AIS number to do this - just leave that field blank...

Good luck!

Oh, and I am going to move this post to the Alabama Forum where it is more appropriate.

Here is the link for the prison itself...

The only way that you would be able to begin communication with her is to write her a letter. Take the information from the web site and address the letter to her including her AIS number (put this after her name) which you will get from the Inmate Search you do.

You could provide her with your phone number in your letter but be aware that some prisons and states have a phone list that is only able to be updated every 6 months or so - so for this reason she may not be able to call you. I am not sure the phone list rules in Alabama... Perhaps an Alabama member will be along to help you with that...

Thank you for responding to my post. I guess I didn't put enough information down on my original post. I already know that she is there at the Tutwiler Prison. I just don't know how to communicate with her using this forum. I don't know if she has a user name etc. I would like to talk with her. I need to know how I go about doing that. I just found this forum and am still unsure about how it works, it's features and stuff. I did a search for her name on here but found nothing. I need to know her user name on here and also if I can chat with her. Anything you can help me with is appreciated.
Again, thank you for your help and in responding. I guess I didn't even post it in the correct forum topic and I appreciate you catching that.

I see now what you are looking for....

Prisoners do not have Internet access at all...

PTO is a support forum for the loved ones of Prisoners on the outside. You cannot directly contact a Prisoner through this site.

Unfortunately you will have to write a letter and drop it in the mail - that is the only way that you will be able to contact this person.

If this is an emergency of an immediate family nature then you may try to call the prison directly see if they will pass on a message but I fear that this will only happen if it is an emergency and if it has to do with an immediate family member to the Prisoner.

Good luck! Sorry that we cannot help you more...

Thanks Everyone for helping me and the warm welcome. I guess I misunderstood what this forum was used for, sorry. I did gain some information from you all that was useful and very helpful, her mailing address. Again thank you all very much.
I do have another question though. I'm not too familiar with what is available on the internet about a prisoner/inmate how does a person find information about someones criminal case or can they (public) have access to that information?

It really just depends. My boyfriend was sentenced in 1990 and it took me years to find where he was when I started searching (and to date never have found anything on his case via the Internet). If the case was at a later time, especially within the last several years, you might dredge up some stuff via a search engine (Yahoo, Lycos, AltaVista, etc.). Alabama's records are notoriously behind the times, which is why it was impossible to find anything on my guy's case when I was looking, even the Alabama newspaper archives are pitiful in that respect. Unless it was a fairly recent (last five to seven years or so) case you're not liable to turn up much via the Internet, though you may find some news and media records, and any official legal records in Alabama are nearly impossible to retrieve online, unless it's very, very new. Alabama is woefully behind the times when it comes to the information highway, sorry to say.

I agree with Lysbeth - it is difficult to find information about a particular case on the internet and so many things come into play. For my Partner there was a plea bargain so there really was not a 'case' so to speak.

I have not got the exact answer to your question and perhaps someone will help me with this answer - I do believe that all of this is public information and you may have to go to the court house locally where the case was heard and get the information there. There will probably be a fee for getting the information but it should be available somewhere...

Well, LouderPoo, I found this site by sheer chance and was surprised to see your post about Marsha. She is a very good friend of mine. Please contact me if you still need information. FYI, she is one of the best people I know so I sincerely hope your intentions are good. Lord knows she has been through too much already.

God bless!

Hi JohnnyReb and welcome to PTO this post is now 15 years old and the OP has not been on the site since 2003 its unlikely you will hear from them.
however welcome and enjoy our site if you have family and friends in the prison system there is a lot of help and support here.
