Does anyone know what a pre-parole investigation in Maryland is and how long it takes.

Hello. Welcome to Prison Talk. I looked online, but unfortunately I couldn't find the answers you are looking for. Hopefully someone from Maryland will be able to post some answers soon.

Default Parole Voilation (off topic)

Not to steal your thread I'm new here and didn't see how to start a new one.

My buddy is on Parole he has at least 6 years left from his original sentence. He is going to have to go to court for DUI. The police sent him to the ER so he was not arrested. Will he have to do all his original time to be eligible for parole again? This is his first time out on parole and his only violation. Thanks in advance.

His PO may choose to violate him and then yes, he's technically required to complete what ever time he has remaining on his sentence. I've know people here (in MD) who technically violate, but are given another chance depending on the PO, their record, and how well parole is going prior to the incident. I've known someone who had to have an ankle monitor for 6 months for violating. There are several variables including his original charge.
