If he is a federal prisoner you can log on to bop.com and it will tell you the release date currently in the system. I'm not sure about state, though.

Default Hr 261

Hi, I have read about the H.R. 261. Would an online petition help? Or is the best thing we can do is send letters and e-mails to our congressperson?
Thanks

Any type of petition and correspondence is a move in the right direction. It needs to be known to all the officials that we are not here to just wait out the time and let them make all the decisions. As voters you all have rights. Fight for what you believe in and contact whomever it takes to get the point across that we are here and will not go away.

Thanx for getting the word out. This bill has been being worked on since 1982. It is time for it to pass. Anyone in West Virginia needs to email or call their congressman. My friend is in West Virginia Morgantown and he needs our support. http://www.November.org and sign the petition. Bring your friends and family home with them only doing 25-30% of their sentence.

Hello,

I see that you post alot of thread on this site. I want to know if you could help out. I received a petition from the center for constitutional rights regarding the telephone contract however since I'm not familiar with this site i didn't know how to post it. I tried to cut and paste the email so you could see it but i couldn't so would it be possible that you email the following lmelodia@ccrjustice.org and request a copy of this petition so you could post it on this site. This petition is to expedite the new telephone contract and hopefully eliminated the financial burdens of the families who receive these collect calls from their love ones ....Your support is greatly appreciated.

is there really anything that we can do for our loved ones suffering the enduring lockdowns, overcrowding, property confiscation, denied visits and phone calls with outside family that would make any strong man break. My son is in centenila and in d yard. hes been on lockdown with all ots of hispanic decent for over two months. i received a heartbreaking letter from him and he says hse being transferred out of state very soon and im denied visiting him due to a failure to pay i havent seen him for two years and he has lots of time to go. he sounded s down and broken. not the strong man that went thru those doors.

Yes but it takes a village. One voice won't be heard but if even half of the people who had loved ones incarcerated actually took proactive steps to demand what is needed from the government there would possibly be change. Think about, what does a politican want? To be re-elected. If their office is threatened they'd start looking at things from a different perspective.

Hi Nina:
You may want to post this question on the Georgia forum. My son has been asking me about this too. Seems one of the CO's mentioned it. (Not that it will make a difference for my son.)
Seems there is talk floating around the prisons again.
I won't believe anything until I see it in writing.
Welcome to PTO.

Default When a love one is incarcerated!

As mention, in my title above; when you have a love one that's incarcerated it hurts! Of course, that love one for me is my son. You as a parent, are not physically locked up with him, but mentally and spiritually you are! To hear my son tell me of what goes on behind those walls, ONLY the arms of GOD can comfort me. My son has about (18) months to go of a (3) years sentence.

Due to the unjustice system and many false allegations of an ex-friend, along with very poor reprentation from his lawyer, he was given Maxuium security. For the the immates with longer and tougher sentencing cares (zero) about during something to him, so he could mess up. But I think Jesus, It is in him my son is finding strength. Because everyday is a battle, and often times to stay alive. Is there someone I can write too about getting my son medium security?
