Default GOV TRACK BILL HR 1475- Fed Work Incentive Act (Early Release)

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h111-1475

On the right hand side of the page, under TELL CONGRESS HOW TO VOTE, click on "show your support".
You will need to register for this site and send the below support letter (copy and paste). You have until Dec 3, 2010 to influence Congress!!

I support H.R. 1475: Federal Prison Work Incentive Act of 2009 because I am concerned that almost 211,000 people are "Endlessly" languishing in federal prisons in the U.S. The average age is 38 years old. Most are serving long sentences, for a non-violent offense like marijuana and possession of child pornography; the majority of whom are first time offenders. There is no parole.
H.R. 1475 ~ Federal Prison Work Incentive Act (Winner of the "Top 10 Ideas for Change in America for 2010") is a bill to restore the former system of good time allowances toward service of Federal prison terms, that would increase good time allowances from 54 days per year to 120 days per year. Just a 10% reduction in the federal prison population would save taxpayers $1.2 billion dollars per year and release 21,000 non-violent people from prison.

http://judiciary.house.gov/about/members.html
(list of Judiciary Committee members)

On further investigation, this Bill is currently with the Judiciary Committee and needs our help to move it out of the committee and into policy. There are 40 members of the committee and only 2 members currently support this Bill. Everything I have read says that we need to call/write these representatives before Dec 3rd, 2010. I am writing all of them today and tomorrow.

You can still email and call as many of the Judiciary Committee members as they will allow today and tomorrow. Tomorrow is the deadline to make some noise. I have emailed the committee members in my state and a few others. Some will not allow you to email them if you are not in their district. Click on the Judiciary Committe Link and from their you can find contact info for all 40 members. Good Luck.

I wish that this bill would pass, its just that there is too much money involved in the Private prisons, and the crooked representatives and senators that receive money out of them private prisons... That is the real reason this bill is opposed, dammed money...
