I probably spend $20-30 in a month on my letters, and I send stamps in, so probably half again for his letters, because USPS is WAY cheaper than Royal Mail... A standard letter is £1.28 ($2.14) for me to send, and $1.15 (£0.69) for him to send... And now he's in the hole, I expect to spend a little more.

It all depends on the time of year.
Christmas and birthdays see my postage costs go sky high!

I go through a book of stamps in a week very easily.

... not to mention the money spent on pictures...

During a year probably a total of $100 in costs for postage and shipping things to my son if i adjust for everything,

I usually send monthly an overweight letter of 6 typed pages, some photos, and a money order so the extra 20 cents, and also postcard or greeting card each month. His sister sends him postcards.

I send him books through Amazon and I have prime account so free shipping. In AZ no 3rd party vendors so everything has to go through Amazon being the shipper. His birthday is in December and with Christmas too I send him about 6 books and during the year at least another 6, so the shipping savings averages $50.

In AZ we cannot provide postage to inmates, they have to buy envelopes with postage on it from prison. My son calls an average of twice a month, but does not usually write letters to me. He could have pen pals and not have told me.

I usually send one long letter a week, so just one stamp every week. I'll mix it up with a postcard here or there and maybe just a quick letter if I need to tell him something really important. We don't have phone calls or email.

I spend on average about $15-$20 weekly. I write sometimes more than one letter a day, not including cards and postcards. I need to either start writing small or typing my letters.

I spend between 3 and 20 at a whack depending if I send it overnight mail which is 20 a time plus pics printed and phone time with my debit card which is insane but in my eyes totally worth it n the post man knows me coming lol if I don't want to wait till 230 pm lol
But has anyone's used the online mail like inmateaid etc to type letters and they mail them?

Do we count JPay stamps too? If we count JPay stamps, I spend around $6,75 a week for JPay stamps, and $4 a week for stamps. Lately I have had to cut down costs, so I don't send that much snail mail anymore. He's worth every penny though ;-) He is spending over $5 a week to stamps too, but I live overseas. I think I am worth it too ;-)

Depending on what I'm sending and to how many family and friend I'm sending out to could differ. At times its been either 49 cents to about 5.00.

I used to go through $20 a week in stamps.. But since he's gotten more tech savvy and uses trulinks/corrlinks, we both send maybe a card or two a month now..

I buy 1 book of stamps and it last me 2 weeks. I've been sending him a letter per day and few stories to read so my last book went by pretty quickly. I had to buy another book tonite cuz I ran out ..lol. But he's worth every penny I spend
