Default SAFP Is it helpful???

I can't say it is or isn't but, I can say from what I went through it scared the hell out of me. At the time I was pregnant when I went in there. I feel my son now has many problems due to me constantly being stressed while I was in there and, their lack of medical attention. I have been sober since I got out which was back in 2006 not, because of the program but, because of the stress it caused when I was in that nightmare!!!! I put myself in that place based on the choices i made. But, now I can control those choices by choosing to move forward and, now I am pregnant with my second child. This time I am taking it easy and enjoying this pregnancy as I didn't really get too before.

Well I'd say it worked then because you don't second guess wanting to go back.

It is like any other treatment program in that much of the success is going to be steeped in how motivated the individual is to get enough out of the curriculum to stay away from drugs/alcohol after the program is complete.

The problem with many forced programs (and SAFP fits that category due to how one gets there) is that the 'clients' tend not to be motivated for treatment.

That being said, it appears that it did what was needed for OP and that they are able to avoid the injurious habits that are also harmful to the newborn...
