Default Joyceville institution

Hi, I'm very new to this, my mans leaving this week, and I have no idea how do I visit him, what needs to be done, and what's the fastest way that I can visit him soon. I'm very worried about him, I want to able to see him ASAP. And what can I send him there ? If you kno someone's in there now, can you tell him how's the environment there? And my last question is that I live downtown Toronto, anyone kno how can I get there by bus or go train?

Please leave me a comment if you kno anything thanks
Thank you so much for helping me out

You need to fill out visiting forms and send them in to get approved. U can print them off at the csc website. As for the transportation I'm not sure but hopefully u figure it out

It is the correctional services of canada website. It is csc.gc.ca. It will be on the left hand side under forms. I think there are other forums that talk about cheap transportation. I hope this helps

I think he will have to talk to the librarian there to see if he can get papers or magazines.

In terms of getting there:

The John Howard society of Toronto bus service shut down last year. There's now an organization called FEAT for Children, in Toronto, which runs a bus to all of the Kingston institutions on the weekend for a low price: http://www.featforchildren.org

The John Howard Society of Hamilton also runs a van on certain Saturdays and may be able to pick you up on the way if you can get up to the 401 or down to the 403.

The best prices for a commercial transport is the mega bus, or you can take the Via train. For both of those, you have to take a cab from Kingston up to Joyceville.

Best wishes

There are open visits at Joyceville, though if he is in the new assessment unit or otherwise on maximum classification, there's a chance they may be closed (behind glass)
