Default ineligable for parole

2010 our son was sentenced to 10 serve 3 for burlary. in 2011 we hired a lawyer out of atlanta that screwed us really bad. for three thousand dollars he promised to help our son. this was his first offense. he was not offered the first offender of georgia. after all was said and done with this so called lawyer we only could hope for parole. so we wrote letters made phone calls only to find out a year and a half later he was never eligable for parole. nothing was said of this in court. i feel like they are sweepin something under the carpet. can anyone tell me anything to help . or something we can try to do. what he did was wrong but i want him treated fairly. even murders are up for parole. please help....
