1. I have been a member for 7 months and have 26 posts as of tonight. Is there a certain amount of time I need to wait until my chat username& password is accepted?
2. Is there a chat app for iPhone? What about just a regular PT app?
1... You have 25 posts when I read this, not 26.
Do you have Java installed? Please remember, it takes a few hours after you have made 25 or more posts before it kicks in. So you will need to wait a few hours.

2.. There is an APP for PTO, but not too sure about for the chat its self. You would have to refresh all the time if there was, and it would like all chat rooms visited from a cell phone of any kind, will cost an arm and a leg. the chat isnt all that popular though, so may not be worth it.
But to answer your question. I dont think there is an APP for the chat room its self.

The chat room is just "fluff" and probably the least useful place in all of PTO for getting information or for connecting with other people.
It’s fun, but it is NOT what PTO is all about.
In order to use the chat room, you must have at least 25 posts AND you need to have been a member for 2 weeks or more. Sometimes the system takes a few hours to recognize that you've become eligible for the chat room, so please be patient.
In the meanwhile, there are thousands of discussions you can participate in on the boards, which are the heart of PTO- The chat room is really just icing on the cake.
If you scroll down the Forum Index, you'll surely find a forum that is relevant to your interests and concerns.
Click on the forum title to enter the forum , then click on a thread title to read that thread.
Reply by either typing your reply into the "Quick Reply" box at the bottom of the thread or by clicking on the "Post Reply" button just above the "Quick Reply" box, then click "Post Reply" when you've finished typing.
To create a new thread, look at the top of the thread list in any forum for a button marked "New Thread", click on that and it will open a window where you can give your thread a title and type up what you want to say or ask.
When you are done, click near the bottom where it says "Submit New Thread" and your thread will be posted.
If you ever have trouble finding a post you made, go to the upper right corner of the screen and click on your name. This will take you to your profile. Then choose "Statistics", in that screen, click on "Find all posts by..." and you'll get a list of all of your posts/threads.
Lastly, for now, if you ever get a message saying that your post or thread has been moved, all you have to do is click on the thread title within that message and you'll go right to the new location of your thread or post.
