Default Intro- keytad

Hi all!! I'm Keyta from Arkansas. I'm just joining the site as a way to have some peeps that are going through similar experiences and feel the same void I feel at times with having a loved one that is serving time. My better half is at FCI Beaumont. He has been incarcerated since 2005. We were previously at Herlong and then Elkton.

Welcome to Prison Talk. You will definitely meet other members who are also dealing with having a LO locked up in federal prison. It is important to help each other through the hard times of being separated..

Welcome to Prison Talk. Here is a link to the bop Herlong facility page.
http://www.bop.gov/locations/institutions/her/index.jsp

It contains the inmate rulebook (A&O Handbook) and the visitors rules.
If he is in the satellite camp, the restrictions are less than they are at the FCI Medium.

You can send letters and photographs. The only other allowable property that can be sent from outside to federal prisoners are newspaper/magazine subscriptions and books mailed directly from a publisher, or bookstore, by US Mail shipping. The camp may also allow paperback books sent directly from home.

Here is how to put money on his account for commissary, phone minutes and email.
http://www.bop.gov/inmate_programs/money.jsp

Herlong doesn't have a commissary list or an A&O handbook for the camp posted, but Dublin, another FCI in CA, does, so what he finds will be pretty close to Dublin.

Ask if you have other specific questions.
