Sometimes being in prison is "the better option" for some people because if they were outside they would be dead :/

My friend said prison was a wake up call for him as he was going down a wrong path. He managed to further his education in Refrigeration and A/C, Stone Masonry or something like that can't remember and he is trying to get into another class now. He said he is going to be the jack of all trades hahaha. He also got fitter than he was before.

For those who are inside I think "good things" take on a whole new meaning. The bar as to what is good gets lowered almost to the floor. So many of things that seemed good to me while I was in when I look back on them seem ridiculous. The only good thing I can truly say happened in there was I got the best celly anyone could ask to have for about a month. In one months time talking to him we were able to wipe away a lifetime of bitterness. As a result I enjoy life so much more and do not carry around all that pain. That month made the two years I had to spend worth every minute.

Prison has been a real wake up call for my husband and myself. It got him clean off of heroin and got him to realize what path he wants to be on and what he wants to do with his life. It has made us learn to communicate better and as a result we have grown closer.

Thank you for such an uplifting and inspirational thread. My husband has been in for only 2 months, but already I see changes in him. There is a lot of bad things that are happening, but definitely blessings as well. God can and does bring good out of all circumstances. I have to believe that.
