Default Do they open their mail?

I had just a quick question. I have read on PTO where people will put games or poems, little notes in with their letters. I'm wondering if Staton if the CO's open their mail and these small notes get lost before it gets to my guy. Does anyone know?

As far as I know all mail is opened and checked before being given to the inmate. I hope nothing gets lost though, I enjoy including little notes or puzzles for my pals
Still round the corner there may wait, A new road or a secret gate.

They definately check mail. If they decide not to deliver it, say there is a lazer print Hallmark card or something equally dangerous, they may wait months to return it as undelivered.
