Yes, the ladies here are GREAT! I appreciate their help very much.
They've given us some hope. As the court appointed attorney tells us it's a "tough case."
My SIL, has an appointment with his attorney today. Hopefully it'll be some better news.
The unknown is even worse right now.
Thank you, ladies for helping us get through this.
Well, he had a pre-sentencing court yesterday, to accept his plea deal. He pleaded guilty, which reduces his sentence time. His attorney thinks he's a level 16, which puts him at 12 months time. But he could be 24 points. He says the sentencing judge decides what points he has.
His sentencing court date is in August. Before then a parole guy will come and interview him. The judge will also look at this interview to give his sentence.
Did any of you go through this process? Do you guys think he'll do the 12 months or is there a possibility he may do time served by August?
Hi Arizona girl. I'm glad you got one court date over and done with.
When my fiancé went through this, it's just as it is happen i g with your brother. After the probation department interviewed him, I received a phone call and was interviewed myself. (over the phone). Our lawyer also suggested we prepare letters from family to speak about my fiancé's good character. And we were encouraged to go to his final sentencing court appointment to show support. My fiancé was facing 36 -48 months. I can't remember points he had. When he has his interview just tell your brother to be calm and honest. Oh, and our lawyer also suggested my fiancé speak to judge directly. That helped also. In any case. In the end he was sentenced 18 months. Taking into consideration. Time already served while waiting for all these court dates and good behavior he only had about 9 months left after that final court date. There is no sure way I saying what will happen with your brother because every case, judge and situation. Is different. But I hope that reading my story gives you hope that things are moving I. The right direction.
