My husband told me something like that today that the officers come in and told them. I emailed the adoc and and the parole board to ask if they knew anything and I havent got a reply yet. So lets hope its not just another rumor.

Default ??is it just more rumors??

I was told a few days ago that a federal judge has ordered that Alabama to release some (not sure how many) of the non-violent offenders. Has anyone else heard anything about it and if so how much truth is there to it? I hope they do but I know that there is always rumors like this. My hubby has a parole hearing in less than 3 weeks so I hoping this is true and it will work in our favor. Thanks in advance for any input and info!!

Question ?'s about non-violent releases

A few days ago I was told that a federal judge has ordered the state of Alabama to release a percentage of non-violent offenders. Has anyone else heard anything about it? I know rumors like this are always going around, but I hope its true. My hubby has his first parole hearing in 2 weeks so hopefully this (if true) will help get him approved. Any info on or input about this is appreciated. I hope its not just a rumor this time.

I'm not exactly sure but I just got back in touch with a friend of mine that is in south Alabama and found out that he made parole in January but an officer at work release stopped it before he was released, and he is already scheduled for another hearing on March 13. He is in on a possession charge.

He may have said that but if there is no money to feed the men and women in there and there is no place to put them they will have to start releasing. They are ate 192% capacity rate right now.

My son's prison is higher than that. They are already giving them food labeled noot fit for human consumtion; inadequate clothing; inadequate medical care and illegaly charging for it; just to mention some of the less controversial issues. Sounds like he can do what hw wants

that is true for most of them but they are wanting the more money to continue at the level they are now and i dont see how they can let it go anymore. they are going to have to start something soon or our men are going to be living on one meal a day and lawsuits are going to be coming soon

I heard the same thing. My husband is waiting in St Clair county jail,, waiting on transport to kilby. He said even there at the county jail theres ALOT of guys waiting for transport and their meals say the same thing "not fit for human consumption" as well he's not getting his meds for his knees like he should be they're swelled from retaining water and barely able to walk so what are they doing with his meds? its really got out of control. I can only imagine what the actual prisons have become
