Question Hope Village HWH info please

Hi, does anyone know anything about hope village in Washington DC, my LO was just on the phone and it sounds like they might send him there and he doesnt want to go. What happens if he doesnt sign the paperwork? and whats it like there? Any info would be great, Im seeing him in the morning and want to know more about it so i can talk it over with him

I couldn't find much, but this article will give you some idea of what it's like there. I know from people who have been in DC HWH's, some are in awful neighborhoods and are quite dangerous, but I don't know if Hope House fits in that category or not.

If he declines HWH placement, he will most likely get some phone/commissary/visit restrictions, but his case manager should be able to tell him what to expect.

Hope Village is in one of those neighborhoods that you dont want to go in - even during the day time thanks for that info...i'll let him know about what to expect if he doesnt take the placement Thanks

One of the guys said they had to take taxis to the HWH every day or they would get robbed before they got back. What a way to reintegrate into society, which is what the HWH is supposed to make easier.

im starting to think he's right in not wanting to go there, at least he knows whats what in the prison, he said to me if he went there he didnt want me anywhere near the area because its too dangerous

I dont think its any way to reintegrate into society....hes on home detention ater they want him to do this, i dont see why they dont just send him straight home and put him on that ankle bracelet thing to me that makes alot more sense
