Forever and Always My Baby and Me
April 19,2012 God Will Hopefully let my baby come home
I keep cards for special occasions but not letters. For one thing, there are way too many of them. We've been at this for more than 20 years! For another thing, these are personal conversations between us. If anything happened to me, I wouldn't want anyone else reading them.
I seldom get letters (we talk 3 plus times a day) but they are all in a large envelope he had another draw a rose on, back when he was in county. Eventually I'll get a box for all the letters, cards and other 'gifts' he's sent. And then I will hide it away until the day we sit down and tell our *future* children what our first 3 years were like!

I bought a wooden photo organizer box from Michaels Craft Store and painted it. I cut and glued a piece of decorated scrapbook paper to the top of the box so it matched the paint color, and wrote his name on the front of it. I've numbered the letters on the outside of the envelope as I've gotten each one as well, and put them in order. I have them all from first to the most recent. The box isn't hidden away or anything, I keep it on a shelf where my other writing supplies is, so I can grab and go through them easily any time I want.
Time won't ever steal my soul, we're not broken, so please come home...
After I've read it I number it and put what day I've received it. I carry the latest few in my purse and the previous ones go into memory boxes I bought at the dollar store. Eventually I will put them into storage bins.
I always hold on to the most recent letter. I put it in my purse until I get a new one (which is usually the next day) and then I file them in my archive.
I didn't know anyone else did that. I do that whenever I receive a new letter I put it in my purse and carry it everywhere I go so when I am really am down and lonely, I pull it out and read it. And than when I get a new one I put the old one in my binder and put the new one in my purse.
I write the date on each envelope of when he wrote it. I then place them page by page in a plastic sheet protector and place it, in order for that month. I write the month on the outside and then put it in a huge box in my closet.
I do something similar to this, but they go in a 3 inch Binder, Every day, except for Tues, and Sun.. I get a 6 page letter from him. I put it in the binder for that month...lol ( Because he knows I hate Tues and Sun, He makes sure I get 2 letters for those days, so I can have on to read the following day.....lol I never wait..and he knows it too)
We decided, when he comes home we are going to put them all together and reminice about these days
I put nothing, it sits Where I last read it. But that's because the last place I read and respond is in my bed so there is a stack next to my bed. Then when I have a bad night I can just grab and read. I do have some put away in a folder thing though
I do something similar to Latin74, I put his letters & the envelope in a sheet protector, after I read it and reply of course. Then it goes into a big 5 inch binder I got from Staples. I need another one though cause that one is full. I get a letter everyday tues-sat as long as the mailroom is on point. They been messing up this week though.. Ugh. I read them all the time.
I read them and then put them into my folder... I have 3 differnet folders... 1 from when he was in county 1 from when he was in receiving and 1 from since he got into his parent prison... the one from his parent prison is about full so when it fills up I will fill up another one... He has been in there for 5 months now and has 7 months to go (unless mgt comes back in illinois) I get letters a few times a week from him... he usually sends them with atleast 4 letters per envelope and thats about 3 or 4 days worth of writting for him... He also writes me and my daughter poems and sends cards which I keep in my folders too... I put them in order from least recent to most recent... he numbers them and puts the date on them so I really dont have to worry bout doin all that... I love him soooooo much
I miss when he was all around me, the taste, and the scent and the feel of him. And how Id fall asleep in his arms, with the sound of his heartbeat being the last thing I heard before going to sleep
I have a couple of those decorative baskets that fit under the coffee table and they go in there. No rhyme or reason really, but the first letter where he told me he loved me is marked with a big heart.

I wanted to make something special out of it. It's my little box for him that I can put his letters in. With my luck, I would lose a binder/folder or something would happen to it. Honestly. lol. And I still live with my family and they don't approve of any of it, so I always hid my letters in an envelope box in my closest. Now I've got this box right on my dresser and it's right there for me to see every morning.
That is really sweet hehe. I have no room my dresser, Im too messy lol.
