Seeking truck drivers who earned their CDL in the Wynne Unit program TX
I am a Producer for a Cable TV documentary on the trucking industry.
We are seeking truck drivers who earned their Commercial Drivers License while in prison -- through one of the TDCJ truck driver training programs.
We would like them to come on camera and speak about their experiences in the program. We prefer someone who is currently working as a truck driver, but if you or anyone you know has gone through one of these programs, we would love to speak to them.
We will be shooting in Texas from June 1st through June 8th. Please contact me (via private message) if you know someone who matches the description.
The Texas prison system operates two truck-driving schools, at the Wynne Unit in Huntsville and at the Central Unit outside Sugar Land. Over 100 inmates a year earn their CDL while incarcerated, and then are able to find jobs as truck drivers when they are released from prison.
