Can anybody tell me what the procedure is for transferring inmates? My son will be sentenced on the 27th of January. He will be leaving West Valley and going to Glen Helen. Can anybody tell me what the transfer process is and how long after sentencing he can expect to be transferred. He is just barely 19 and I would like to give him some info and maybe advice.
Gosh, I have no experience with county to county.
If its the same as going from county to state, basically they come in early am and *roll them up*
tell them to pack it up and then process them out and onto the bus.
Since there probably wont be a bunch of people going to the same place (another county jail) they may send a police car or sheriffs car to come get him)
It will be on their timeline, so there really isnt any telling when.
(plus its a deep dark secret! doncha know? kidding.....like we would *break them out*)
There is a nap for that

Thanks for the response. It doesn't seem that I can get any info. It sounds like it's a little unusual to transfer between County Jails. I saw my son this weekend, and he said he had no idea either. The other guys in the jail, mostly get transferred to State. We will see...he gets sentencing on Thurs. Once he's moved, I can post the procedure he went through for anyone else that may be facing this in the future.
COUNTY TO COUNTY TRANSFER IS SIMILAIR TO ANY OTHER TRANSFER FROM COUNTY JAIL OR PRISON TRANSFER.WHAT HAPPEN IS THAT THEY USUALLY GIVE HIM THE HEADS UP THE NIGHT BEFORE THE TRANSFER OR A COUPLE OF HOURS BEFORE THE TRANSFER. THEY dONT REALLY GIVE INMATES MUST INFO ABOUT THE TRANSFER (LIKE eXACT TIME & DAY) DUE TO SECRUITY PURPOSES.THEY TAKE HIM TO WHERE EVER LOCATION THAT HE HAS TO GO.ONCE HE GETS tO THE JAIL,THEY BOOKED HIM,PROCESS HIM IN,AND ETC. HE WILL MOST LIKELY STAY IN A TEMPORARY CELL UNTIL HE IS HOUSED IN HIS PERMANENT CELL.WHILE HES IN a TEMP. CELL,HE CAN MAYBE CALL U (DEPENDING ON WHICH JAIL HES HOUSED IN & THE C.O RUNNING THE PROCESSING) ANY QUESTION, MESSAGE ME
