* You can send the story of the Emperor Moth, a creature that prevails after much struggle. The story is called "The Emperor Moth and The Struggle" on a google search.

* You can print out and send funny pictures and comic strips from online

* You can print out and send them interesting photoshopped pictures from online

* You can print out and send pics of weird deep sea creatures and beautiful birds such as the Superb Bird of Paradise with captions about them. (a google search will bring up various results)

Mine didn't take long at all, but my husband is at CFRC-Main in Florida and they sent them back b/c of advertisements. I'm not sure if they even allow postcards there. It took about 1.5 weeks, if that helps!

I have learned from experience, that when you need to know something about mail to a facility , CALL the MAIL ROOM . They will tell you what is and isn't allowed . That way you know upfront what you can and can't do . That might be especially helpfully for Valentine's Day, so your card or whatever you are sending doesn't get sent back and/or destroyed. Hope this helps.

I use this site to print out monthly calendars for my husband, and then let the kids color them in and write all our appointments, test anything "homey" on it and mail it to him before then beginning of each month. Hyubby says he loves getting them and hanging them up all month its like a little piece of home and he can keep up with our shedule with it. THought I would share

all of mine made it a few to federal prison and a few to state prison.both were in texas, none was ever returned.
i guess it just depends on whos in the mailroom??

I mailed some postcards to myself as well as to our prisoner. They took about 3-1/2 to 4 weeks to arrive at their destinations. So they could be a good adjunct to regular mailings. Just send chatty notes with personalized photographs (great glossy quality on the postcard). You can't beat the fact that they are free.

I hope these will be helpful to others! all of these ideas are cheap/free for you to do for your loved one... so you can save your money towards visiting him!

1) ABC's of why I love you. basically what it says.. for every letter of the alphabet pick out something about him that you love. eg E for his eyes, C for his cuddles, etc. you can either write these out on a list, or be creative in microsoft word/photoshop. Remember those alphabet cards they use in schools? the ones that say A and have a picture of something beginning with that letter..well make your own! find pictures relating to what it is you love about him on google or just use text! You'll probably have to send them in a couple of different letters since most prisons have a limit of 10 pictures!

2) A list of reasons why you love him. similar to above but just lots of random reasons. All the little things he does (and probably doesn't even notice) that make him the man you love. you can pick a random number if you want but i think its cute to pick a number that means something, eg. the number of weeks you have been together, the number of days since you last seen him, etc. you can be super creative with this one.

3) I love you pictures. this is one of my favorites. this involves holding a piece of paper writing out the words "i love you baby/husband/name/whatever" and taking pictures. you have a couple of choices, you can spell it out indvidually (letter by letter) or do it word by word. Grab a few A4 size sheets of paper **if you want to be extra creative pick red and pink paper, and cut them into heart shapes** and write a letter/word on each page to make up "i love you". so you have that done..now whos going to hold the pages? you can either get a) loved ones of his to each hold a different letter & have you holding the very last one, b) you can get strangers on the street to hold a different letter (I did this & everyone i asked was happy to help!) and you hold the last page, or you can hold each page yourself! if you decide to do the pictures by yourself you can still be creative, take the pictures of you holding the signs in places that mean something (eg. where you guys had your first kiss, where he proposed, anywhere you guys have nice memories together!) or you could dress up differently in every picture, if he has a fantasy of some kind you could dress relating to that, if he likes rock music dress like a rock chick, or cowgirl if he likes country music, wear his boxers or shirt, etc. you will need a friend or tripod to help with the pictures.

4) Dorky hole card. this one is super dorky but really fun & cute. make him a paper valentines card & decorate it really nice on the inside and back. but on the front of the card (yes the front) cut out a circle shaped hole neatly. for size reference make sure your lips can fit in the hole if you pout them! and mail it to him. wait a day or two then write him again saying "you're probably wondering why theres a hole in your card, huh?!" then include a picture with the letter (you obviously need to take this picture before you mail the card!!) and write "SO I CAN DO THIS!" on the back of the picture. in the picture you will be holding up the card with your mouth peeking through the hole making a pout!

5) We go together like... write out a list of names that go together. eg. Sid & Nancy, mickey & Minnie, etc. and at the bottom write "have you guessed what we have in common with this list? we go together" or something like that, you can probably word it better than i can think of right now lol. you can also use things rather than people, eg. salt and pepper, sugar and spice, etc.

6) Bake a cake! what the name says. Some people might think its mean but i read that some guys love it. bake a valentines theme cake (red/pink/white) for your loved one and take pictures of it & send it to them. you can also pose with the cake if you want..i think one person mentioned wearing tiny panties and holding the cake in front of your lady parts to make it look naughtier!

7) Daily reminders of your love. write out 365 different love quotes, one for each day of the year. tell him to read one every day. you could maybe have a different page of quotes for each month & add dates in front of the quotes too. i know most guys will be so bored they will probably read every quote on there in one night but hey its a cute idea lol.

8) Coupons! you can either handmake these or get creative in photoshop. Make 10 (or whatever number you want) coupons for your man to redeem when he wants. One could be for pictures of you doing his favorite pose, wearing his favorite outfit on you, dressing like his fantasy, steamy phone sex, a visit, money on his books, a book/cd
, an erotic story written by you involving you both, etc. Another idea is make the coupons into a theme and write the theme at the top of the coupon then what its for, one i was going to use is "senses". eg - Taste: money on his books for food, smell - you will scent one of your letters to him with your favorite perfume, sound - sexy phone call, touch - a visit to see him, sight - a book. you can think up lots of ideas for this one!

9) Prison of love. I have a feeling this might not get past the mail room but i love the idea anyways, its corny but awesome lol. You can always change the wording or something if you prefer. Dress in a sexy dress thats short and striped (think old school prison uniforms..but sexy lol) and take a picture of you holding up a piece of paper saying "inmate at the prison of love" then go onto photobucket or one of those photo editing websites (google "Online polaroid generator" or something like that, theres one out there!) and make the picture look like a polaroid, then print it off & send it to your sweetie.

10) Love hearts. cut out either heart shaped pieces of paper, or heart shaped photographs/pictures and write things you love about your man on the back. or you could also write love quotes/sayings. ideas of pictures to use would be red roses, heart shaped balloons, etc.

you can also create a little "love package" for your man. use a few of the ideas above, make your own love themed-word puzzle & print it out, include a card, long letter reminding your man how much he means to you, etc. do a photoshoot especially dedicated to him, write "property of *his name/or his inmate number*" on your chest or on some paper and hold it up. dress up in red and black sexy lingere or even just a sexy outfit, put lots of rose petals on your bed and do your sexiest poses! if you are insecure about your body - don't be! your man knows what you look like and he loves you. sexy is not just about how you look, its more about your confidence. be confident in yourself and your pictures will look even better. as a tip (i'm a photographer) if you are really self concious of your body, put your tripod up as high as it will go so you have to kind of "look up" to it in your pictures, thats the most flattering angle. after you take your pictures theres lots of ways to edit them on the internet, you add cute graphics like hearts, quotes, etc. to your photos then print them off
