Question Any way to Stop an Appeal or Request to transfer?

There is a convicted sex offnder/murder in PA and he was sentenced to life without parole and is appealing his case yet again and also putting in a request to be transfered back to a MN prision to be closer to his family. He transfered when he was first convicted for his own saftey.. a few people in our community want to know if there is anything we can do from the outside to have his request and his appeal denied again? Any help would be great!

I'm just curious, I know you don't want him out of prison or to get an appeal, but why are you so adamant to have him not transfer back to Minnesota, if his family is there?
I recognize he has been convicted of a terrible crime, but my heart does go out to his family. No matter how hanus the crime his family still loves him, they are victims also. The family may have encouraged him to ask for a transfer.
There is a tremendous amount of pain and suffering and expense for families that have a loved one in prison.

Ah. Gonna play judge jury & executioner, eh? Don't think the system is doing good enough, I see. Exactly how much does your community know about this guy and what happened? First hand witnesses? If so, I suppose you could always write a letter to the prison warden and express your concerns. But you already said he has life without parole. What more could you do that the prison isn't?

Why not kidnap his family and shoot them execution style as well? I mean, come on! He's spending the rest of his life in prison. He ain't gonna get out in this lifetime, baby doll. It's about time you guys put this behind you and got on with your lives. Hurting him doesn't make you any better of a person. It doesn't bring back those he killed. All it does it eat you up inside. But hey, if you think you can live with it, be. my. guest. Don't let ME stop you.

But you just remember that while I and no one else here will do anything about it (because I can't say we really give a damn), in the end you still have to account for you actions to Jesus. What He says then WILL be "the" decision.

Or, considering what your community wants to do, are you guys also above Jesus and God, since you're above the system?

WEll he asked for the transfer out in the first place for his own saftey since he knew that he would be attacked by other inmates for what he did.. His family honestly I don't think they care, his wife was just speaking to a news reporter about how she lied in court saying he was home when he wasn't because she was being abused by him.. We just don't want the victims family to go through the pain of knowing he is in the town he killed their daughter in.. And the community has already shown their concern.. They were going to air an interview with him and our community fought to have it pulled off the air so far as to going outside the Tv station and Protest.. the story was pulled and the news hit from Carlton County all the way to the cities.. Just some of us don't want him to have the opportunity to move back, yes he will never get out but he had his day in court and has appealed 3 times now and we the community feel since he had his day in court and he should not be given anymore options..

Honestly, I think you don't know what is in his family members hearts. His wife maybe very angry with good cause, but I would venture to say there are other family members that would differ with you, and her. This is not to take away from the crime, you can love the sinner and hate the sin.

All I can say is he had his day in court, he has been found guilty and he is paying his dues.
I'm sorry for his victim(s). Like I said in a previous post his own family is grieving, they are victims too; and they do not need the added pain of a community twisting the knife. It may be time for your community to move on and start to forgive.

At this point this inmate needs you prayers, not more condemnation.

I understand you and the community are hurt and want nothing good to happen to this man but you came to a support site for familys of prisoners. Not a good place to ask how to keep an inmate down. Sorry for all your pain.

Peace and blessing

I have read the news stories on this, and I assure you it is a very, very horrible crime, committed by a very dangerous, previously convicted sex offender. Part of "paying his dues" is being moved out of state for his own safety. Part of "paying his dues" is the emotional stress that he has put upon his own family. The rights of the victims and their families will always outweigh the rights of the convicted or their family. It is not your place or mine to tell somebody when it is time to forgive. To the o.p. you have already been doing the right things. Alert the media, and sign petitions showing that the offender is not welcome in the community.

We all have opinions and I have stated mine, so please save your chastisement for someone else. To the o.p. you have already been doing the right things. I dont think anyone was chastising anyone. Just giving a little more insight. It's a tough situation all around but as the other poster said, this is probably not the online community to get the info the OP is looking for without getting a few unpopular opinions. We can however keep things civil.
