Called by AIDWYC!!
Yesterday, while reading the Bestselling biography by Joyce Milgaard on exonerating her son, David ~ "A Mother's Story"... I sat reflecting on her remarks about working for an Innocence Project in Northeast Usa called Centurion Ministries - named for the Roman soldier 'Centurion' who said: "Surely, this one must be Innocent...?" while looking up at Jesus on the cross.
For the first time I realized that the most famous wrongfully convicted, and executed, man in history was Jesus...!
I am not Christian. Not even close. I am Pagan. I believe in total responsibility for one's choices, judgment and actions. I was sitting feeling rather jealous of Joyce's ability to seem to 'pray' all her worries away - and as I sat contemplating this - the phone rang....
It was a kind man named Rene, from the Association for the Wrongfully Convicted, in Winnipeg! He wanted know where he could send a full application to Darren for him to fill out... that they might examine his case!
I was dumbfounded. and so thrilled! I know it may not go anywhere with them, but just the coincidence of them calling me right at that moment - after soooo long, sent shivers down my spine. Upon finishing the book I learned that this is the office where Joyce Milgaard herself works from. Eerie.
I highly recommend her book to you all....
Today I have a whole new respect for Joyce Milgaard.
And for the wrongfull executed man they called Jesus.
And for myself.
And a New Hope.
Remember:
To the World you are but One person,
but to One person you are the World.
We are all Heroes.
~ Best wishes, and even prayers, to every innocent body in prison today... ~

Well the innocence project only helps those that have dna to prove their innocence. What if that is not the case. My husband is innocent and it was even brought up at his trial that the person that testified against him at trial said while on the whitness stand that he lied on his statement because he was beaten by police and threatened with a 25-life sentence if he did not change his statement, and even with that they still convicted him and found him guilty. What can I do he was only 14 years old at the time and now he is going to be thirty this year. He was sentenced to 9-life, and has done 15 years so far. He has been denied at 4 parole boards already. What do I do help please. Anyone that has advice pm me. #4 Member loving my lifer club

Well I contacted all the Florida related Innocence Projects, and many other Org. and my case is so simple, but because it involves officer misconduct, and adult pornagraphy, no attorney will get involved, the ACLU did write me back, but EFF.Org of all the others did not, section 847.0138 Fla. Stat.
(2001), was legislations that was politically driven, at one point in 2004 I called at least 30 attorneys from my town with $5000.00 to waist no body would take the case, yep Florida the good old boys network.

Most of them are based off of DNA. Centurion Ministries will take cases without DNA, but they don't take very many cases a year. There is a long waiting list.

System vs. family
I am in complete agreement...My husband is doing 15yrs plus another 5 for a enhancement of a misdemeanor crime he did when he was 16 yrs old. His controlling case was for bodily harm on 2 counts. His co defendant was his identical twin brother. His brother will be out the gate in just 20 days, and the twist on my husbands case is that his twin brother was also threatened with if he didnt testify against his twin then he'd be given 69 yrs. to life{what a joke...What life}and the other guy at the scene that was identified in a lineup at the scene by the victims walked ,why???His grandfather was a Superior Court Judge at the courthouse that their trial was set at ,so you already know the ending on this story. My husband was not identified by the victims,he went to get his van out of impound 5 days later, first he had to go get a clearance from the L.A. P.D. why would he go there if he was guilty??? thats only the beginning this seriously would take too long and never make any more sense than yours.I'll pray for you and your man to see justice someday with all this...*RaymondzWifey* as e=CTemen-Mojica;1246303]Well the innocence project only haelps those that have dna to prove their innocence. The innocence project deals with cases where physical evidence can prove innocence. If you will contact me here or at email removed per pto policy, pm member for info., I will let you know if I can give you some good advice. I am an expert on habeas corpus and that may be how you will have to go with this case.

GOD's Gifts
Hi,
Whether you believe or not, I believe and you received a gift from GOD. I will pray that this new "process" works out well for you. I get gifts from GOD all the time...last weekend HE even delivered light bulbs...right to my door. Great story...I'll tell you if you want to hear it....Of course, I'm still praying for the biggest gift of all....sometimes it's hard to stand and wait for HIM to answer.....Pamela

Does anyone know who my husband and I can contact in regards to his case? He also is innocent. We have a notarized letter from his previous attorney stating he talked with the key witness, and only witness, who stated she was forced to lie by the D.A. also there are SEVERAL illegal added charges that were placed on him, and we have all the legal paperwork to prove this, but dont know where to begin. He has served 13yrs on a 33yr sentence, and enough is enough. Please if anyone knows where to begin, we are not afraid to do the foot work, just keep running into brick walls, and dont know where to go for honest help.

Can anyone tell me how to obtain the court documents from my boyfriends past? He is servng life plus 10 years. He was denied parole this time for some past crime, but they (parol board) have the facts all mixed up. If I can get a hold of the transcripts, maybe it will help. Thanks.

Thank you everyone for posting this and commenting it has helped me alot. My husband got arrested Feb. 2010. The State of Florida is trying to convict him of Raceteering. There are 8 co-defendants in this case also. The State Att. is offering my husband 7-10 years OR walk & talk. BUT, the incident that the state wants to know about we were in Montana at the time. So my husband honestly doesnt know anything about that or anything else. We had Hearing for a Dismissal on Thursday of last week and my husbands lawyer didnt show up. So where do we go from here? I heard that they can only hold him 1 year if they dont convict him. Is that true?

I don't understand the whole DNA thing. When the one I think of had his court they didn't care about the fact that the DNA they found didn't fit to him, so they just said he acted without leaving DNA or fingerprints or anything at all. And that there was DNA which pointed to other persons was something they also didn't care about because this DNA could have been there randomly... - In other words: How can DNA "proof" innocence at all if someone is spoken guilty although the DNA leads in another direction which was already known at that point of time? - Under such circumstances I see no way to get an appeal for the reasons of DNA-"evidences".
