My friend is at Indiana State where the show was done. He says those cats are treated like royalty not just by their owners but virtually everyone.

No one would dare do anything to hurt them. Most of the cats are able to wander around (having more freedom than their owners). He says they all know which cells to hit (to get the best food).

It is also a powerful incentive in that one of the requirements of having a cat is to maintain a good behavior record. And nobody wants to risk losing custody of their baby.

ps-- the cats that they have are ones that would probably otherwise be put to sleep.
