Intro - Karma82

Hello everyone. My soon to be husband is in Lawrence cc. I see there are not a lot of new posts here, but I'm looking for lots of information, and I'm new at this so any info will help. Thanks!

Hi :welcome: I'm not familiar with Illinois, but I wanted to pop in and Welcome you to PTO :)

Karma82 03-16-2017 04:34 PM

Thanks you're the first person to actually talk to me. Glad to know there are real people on here, lol

You're welcome :) Have you read through any other forums? There is the Husbands & Boyfriends forum for moral support and understanding ;) Here, click this link and scroll down the forum index page, all the way to the bottom to see all the forums. Of course, any state specific questions would be most appropriate here in the Illinois forum, but that doesn't mean you can't explore and find other "real" people all over the site :)

Hello and welcome to PTO. I am so sorry you're having to face this. While I am from Illinois, I am not overly familiar with IDOC.

Hello and welcome to PTO. We are optimizing the community / forum structure so it is more easy to find what you are looking for and locate other people in your area. Hope you will join in.. There are plenty of active members. They just aren't always online at the same time, and a lot of them browse more than post. If you have any specific questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thanks everyone. I am learning a lot! I have read many forums with many posts. I have seen where people say you can do something at a prison and then someone else says you can't do that at the same prison. Does this happen alot or is it more like probably different circumstances?

Sometimes rules change (often with no prior warning), sometimes it may even depend of which CO is in the visit room or who answers the phone when you call the prison....and sometimes different people have different experiences / perspectives.

EDIT: And sometimes some folks will do things, advocate things, that are against DOC / BOP policy...which is never a good idea!
