Former inmate wins lawsuit over solitary confinement

"Throughout his time in solitary, Ernesto Lira insisted he was never a member of any gang. He sued the Department of Corrections over mental disorders he says he developed behind bars. Lira had his day in court -- and won"

THANK GOODNESS HE WON! This is big! Steps towards making it what it really is....cruel and unusal punishement!

Good for him!. There are sooo many like him . May this victory help others who have been treated like he has. Unfortunately, this is the only thing that makes CDCr improve.

poor thing but thank goodness he won and that part is over. then they wonder why they go back, more issues then when they went in. i just had a thought, why is it when we spank our kids for any wrong doings they right away want to arrest us for abuse but want to punish our loved ones to the fullest and abuse them in every way humanly possible for the rest of their lives for a wrong doing? at least half of these people fighting for our safety are more of a threat to us than some of the inmates or should be locked up along with our inmates. its ridiculous and pisses me off.
