His Angel its me! I talked to the secretary of the sen. who is in charge of this issue and was told its a dead bill and will not go any further. This was a while back too. I have been monitoring it very closely send e-mails to the sen and reps and i get the same response that its not going any further just recently i got one saying that it was not going to get any type of neg. there is a website that i belong to that send e-mails when ever there is something new going on about it.....go to the website and click on OREGON ALERT then copy and paste the topic and add your own if you like and do a group e-mail to all listed below as i have....sign up and they will send you e-mails when something new arrives.

No blanket time cut but HB 2647 was signed by the Governor and is beginning now in the Oregon DOC. Drug and alcohol intensive treatment programs at Coffee Creek (for women) and Powder River (for men) which will give time cuts off the remainder of the sentence if completed, with 90 days transitional leave in the community. (The time cuts and screening are just like the boot camp program). It's called the Alternative Incarceration Program. Inmates apply for it. They have to have no more than 36 months left to serve and they do 6 months in the program and then out to the community. Must be minimum custody and their court order must say they are eligible for alternative programs and early release. Other criteria too (certain offenses excluded, etc.) Apply though prison counselor.

Follow-up to last post: 20 beds for women in the Coffee Creek drug/alcohol program. 278 beds for men in the Powder River drug/alc. program in Baker City, Oregon. Zelda
