Corcoran Heat Wave

Hi Ladies!!!
Thanks for all of your support. Thank you Ponyboyswife!!!!
I usually rent a car when I go to Corcoran, my car would not be
able to take that drive. I do have to say I had a brand new 2006
rental car with zero miles....and it did break down on the way back
from Corcoran.....yes, I was alone....no husband because he is at
Corcoran(hahahah)!!!! Anything in life is possible. I don't know if
I am going this weekend...uuughhh! I hate the heat out there! I
only get an hour behind the glass visit. Am I wrong ladies... I feel
guilty.

oh don't feel bad...it really does take alot out of us. 1) the drive 2) going thru visitor processing 3) the whole wait time 4) the sometimes BAD CO's 5) times up and having to leave them there 6) the whole drive back OH YEA IT TAKES ALOT OUT OF US!!! Do not feel Guilty my dear! its going to be between 105-108 degrees all weekend long out in corcoran! Its a big decision!

PonyBoySWife 07-12-2006 11:27 AM

and if you do decide a rental is probably best. i too had a rental breakdown on me it even started leaking GASOLINE!!!

freesomeday 07-12-2006 11:30 AM

The guys know all the sacrifices we make for them, and I know really appreciate it. Unfortunately they live in the heat and misery every day.:(

PonyBoySWife 07-12-2006 11:33 AM

Very True Freesomeday. Let's Hope Your Right And They Do Appreciate It And Learn From All This And Never Go Back!

Danny's Bella 07-12-2006 11:39 AM

I thought they were on lock down again...or is it just certain inmates?

Danny's Bella 07-12-2006 11:46 AM

Good luck on whoever decides to go up this weekend! I sure wish i could go (regardless of the heat)! It's my honey's birthday today, and i have been restriced from seeing him the past six months:(

PonyBoySWife 07-12-2006 11:47 AM

That's Practically An Everyday Occurance At Csatf!! Unless They Got Locked Down After Our Call Last Night Or This Morning F-yard/csatf Wasn't. I Know G-yard /csatf Has Been Off Again/on Again...but I Don't Know If They Are At This Time Or Any Other Yard For That Fact.

PonyBoySWife 07-12-2006 11:49 AM

I'm Sorry To Hear That Danny's Bella:( I KNOW ITS HARD, BUT TRY AND STAY STRONG. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR HONEY.

Danny's Bella 07-12-2006 11:50 AM

I'll be happy when my husband gets transferred out of there this winter.. hopefully he'll get transferred to where he was before

Danny's Bella 07-12-2006 11:51 AM

Thanks...i appreciate that...it is hard, but what can we do (except pray)

Danny's Bella 07-12-2006 11:54 AM

Well you all have a nice day, i gotta get back to work and stop foolin around:p

PonyBoySWife 07-12-2006 11:55 AM

If You Don't Mind Me Asking, "how Long Has He Been At Csatf? And Where Was He Before?" That's Gotta Be One Helluva Drive From San Diego To Corcoran. Geeeez! And I Get All Butt Hurt With My Hour Drive One Way (but That's Only When I Take The Kids)! I Am Very Fortunate And He'll Be Home Soon, So It Makes It Even Better. Now I Feel Bad For The Times I've Complained!

bigbuggee54321 07-12-2006 12:53 PM

It's my husbands b-day coming in about a week! I really want
to see him. I am sad too. We can't be without our wonderful men
anymore. They all have to get out of that crazy place!!! I am scared
to visit when he gets to the main line. I give all of you an applause for
dealing with those crazy C.O.s and all the political acts they put everyone
through!!

I've been trying to make my appointment as early as I can before it gets too freakin hot out there!!! EWWW!!! I can't believe that they can't at least have a fan in there w/them... I wonder if there is anything I can do about that??

skeeter1982 07-12-2006 01:22 PM

Bug, are you gonna see your hubby for his b-day??? Sheesh I hope this summer flies by so they aren't so darn hot in there!!!

MrsDavis 07-12-2006 01:28 PM

You guys are great...

Hello Ladies, I just wanted to tell you how wonderful you guys are and yes we go through alot while our loved ones are in prison. This is the first time for me and it is an experience i will never forget. I went to CSP Solano in Vacaville CA in April 2006. I am still tramatized. I live in San Bernardino CA, I left on a friday about 10:00 PM and got to the prison at 4:30 AM, i drove all night by myself, the drive up there was ok, i was excited and it was night time so i didn't see a whole lot. Anyway i waited on the side of the road, bcuz there was a line and they don't let you on the prison property until 6:45 AM. So i waited then brushed my teeth on the side of the car, changed my clothes in the car. Finally 6:45 AM came and they let us in (still no sleep since i woke up Friday morning and went to work) it is now Saturday morning and i finally get in about 9:00 AM and my husband comes out, it was the most horrible feeling i think i have ever felt...it took me about an hour to unwind and communicate ok with him, and then the deputys call out at 11:30 AM visiting is over, prison is going on lockdown. I couldn't believe it. I was on my way home Saturday afternoon with no sleep only seen my husband for 2 hours, and it took me about an hour to get it together, i cried almost the whole way home, which was about 8 hours. I have been traumatized since. He's filling out all the paper work for a family visit and i don't know how im going to get through that...i do know that i will be flying, but the whole prison thing just creeps the hell out of me... So to all you ladies...much love and don't never think you are not doing enough. Sorry it was so long, but boy was that an experience i will NEVER forget...Have a wonderful day ladies.

It is very unfortunate to have to go through all the things we go through in order to see our loved ones. Hopefully they all understand the sacrificewe make to visit them. I personally go EVERY wknd. from LA to Corcoran 1 I stay Sat. and Sun. =) What one does for love!! The heat is CRAZY, but I guess Im getting used to it,and the CO in our visiting area do bring out a fan =) good luck to all, and yes I will be going this wknd. is my BDAY!! =) lol...Ill be going FRIDAY AND SATURDAY =)

bigbuggee54321 07-12-2006 03:25 PM

Mrs. Davis
I give you a big Huggg!!! You are stronger than me. Is it crowded
at the main line all the time??? Even with the heat are there alot
of people? Skeeter 1982 I want to go for his b-day and it's our
2nd anniversary!!! I only get one hour visit behind glass. I am
proboaly going to use the money I would use to rent a car and
buy gas with, and just send it to put on his books. He needs it.
I thought the cells were air conditioned?? My husband said it's
5 to 10 degrees hotter in the cells, why is that???

skeeter1982 07-12-2006 04:05 PM

HAPPY 2nd ANNIVERSARY!!!
I don't think the cells are air conditioned. Micah gets so hot sometimes he can't even concentrate to write me letters, he sweats all over the paper!!! I feel horrible, I wish there was something I could do!! I am wondering if it's because he is in the SHU??? Is it the same everywhere else?? Is anyone else's man sweating bullets??

bigbuggee54321 07-12-2006 04:55 PM

Thank you Skeeter1982!!!
If we wrote annonysmously to the Warden would they
get mad? If it's a professional request? Maybe it is the
shu-UUUgggh!! I feel so bad, I asked him if he could order
one, but I don't know.

bigbuggee54321 07-12-2006 05:34 PM

What I am referring to is can they order a fan in
their cell? I feel bad for them.

bug

skeeter1982 07-12-2006 06:49 PM

I asked him if they could have fans and he said "NO"!!!:blah:
I am not sure if thats just the SHU?? I wonder if there is someone we can call or YES maybe writing the Warden or Ombudsman would help...

bigbuggee54321 07-12-2006 07:03 PM

I would write a professional letter, but ......I wouldn't
name myself because I don't want to get any of the
guys in the shu in trouble. It's bad enough what they
put them through. I am getting sad thinking about it.

NIKKIWHIT70 07-12-2006 08:22 PM

I know fans can be ordered, but not for the SHU. Sorry. I know everyone is sweating bullets. My loved one takes a towel, makes a hole in the center, soaks it in water, wrings it out and puts in on like a poncho. He said that really helps...
