Any assistance for families of inmates

My husband told me that there is help out there for families of inmates. Especially for children. Can any one please help me locate some of these programs.

I know I've seen scholarships for children of incarcerated parents.

I am trying to figure out the same thing. It's so hard to have everything on one person. There must be some organizations that offer guidance for families. Cute Sesame street videos won't help me take care of the kids on my own. I will do whatever it takes but it would be great to have a step up.

The only thing I found when helping my family member was state assistance was an option. I didn't find any programs specifically for inmates family members.

I donít know of any programs other than state assistance for food and medical if you qualify.

Look into a program called "Angel Tree", the father of my child got into their program a few months ago and for Christmas they delivered about 200$ worth of gifts to our home for our daughter. They called about a month in advance to ask what she specifically needed and wanted as well. I'm not sure if this is just a Christmas program or if they help all year round.. but I know her dad gets involved in as many programs as he can that involve our daughter. He even just signed up for program that will allow him to do parent/teacher conferences with her teacher. We live in Washington state by the way.

Check into Prison Fellowship. They are the ones that sponsor Angel Tree. They have resources to help families. https://www.prisonfellowship.org/res...-of-prisoners/ . If you are in Nebraska, here are some other places to check. http://www.nebraskapen.org/Family/index.html

I never found anything specific for inmate families except if you have small children.
