Is Jpay now deleting old emails?
is anyone upset that JPay is deleting emails? I went to my JPay account today to go back and re-read a few emails that my love one sent to me in August and they are gone . I don't know about you but my emails mean everything to me. They are of sentimental value. A warning from JPay stating that they would delete messages would have been nice so that I could have saved some somehow or printed the ones that were important. I am beyond pissed. They let me keep emails that I sent however the ones that he sent me are disappearing and being deleted. This sucks! Did I miss the memo?

Have you contacted / emailed them about it? It could be a system error or maybe something else? If other PTO members don't respond, please let us know how this turns out.

Have not seen anything that changes the retention of sent messages. That page has a link to 'show older messages.' However, since TDCJ does not have the capacity for an offender to send messages, I don't know if there is a similar link for incoming messages.

It must be a glitch in your app or something because mine are still there. From the fist day till now.

My LO said some are his are gone because they cant have more than 200 messages. All of my sent are there but my received aren't. I even logged on to the computer to check and see if it was my app and its the same. I wrote them to see what is the issue. Lets hope I can magically get them back but for some reason I doubt it. :(

Mine are all there too. I only send one way so that might be why.

Thanks for bringing this up. I started reading the first JPays I sent. Nice memories.

Mine are still there. I do wish they allowed you to download them. I may have to start copying and pasting them in Evernote to save them and have a backup just in case.

Mine are all there, 33 pages worth, dating back a little over two years.

Look at your inbox, right hand side, just above the column headings for the inbox items. There should be a link that is titled "Show Older Letters". If you haven't clicked on that then you won't be seeing all your emails.

But I don't really care if they keep them or not because I always copy and paste the emails into a Word document. I frequently want to look back and see what either I said or my penpal said and it is a real pain to search through the messages on Jpay!

So I have a single document that has all of my emails to my penpal and the responses, all in one document. Searches are easy. Plus, since I type the emails in the Word document I get to use the spell checker!

It sounds like this is just a glitch. Is it possible to copy and paste emails to a word processor document and then print them out? That way you wont be depending on JPays system for safe keeping.

I've never used their system but I'm surprised they don't have a download or "print" option. As others have said, copy and paste is one option.

Mine are all still there. That would make me very upset if they started deleting emails. That said, my LO's facility always seems to have problems with their JPay kiosk, but that's a whole other topic.

Ok so im back! I have my emails. I emailed them and they said that others had complained about a similar problem and they didnt have answer for me. A week later they came back. (praise the lord) I def will copy them and save them because I was about to be a sad puppy but thankfully there are back.
