Oldham County Jail - Marriage??

I apologise if I'm doing this wrong, I'm new so bare with me 💙 My fiance is in Oldham County Jail, in La Grange KY.... We've been trying to get married for the past year and a half but something always comes up! Anyone know if we can proceed while he's in Oldham County?!

Hi Kchari, it will be up to the Jailer in Oldham County. Some Jailers may allow inmate marriage while other county jails may not. Also, the County Clerk may or may not accept the Addendum seen HERE. As I understand it, even though its an officially recognized form each county has the discretion to refuse or accept it.

I'm guessing tha the best place to start is with your beloved writing a letter to the Jailer asking for permission....at least that's usually how the process begins in prison. It may even be easier to get married in a prison rather than a jail :hmm:

Welcome to PTO :) and Congratulations on your engagement!!
