do they check for warrent int he tx system cause i am not tryin to get put in jail lol

I know they are supposed to do so. My hubby says they do, "that's why they have holding cells, Kerri." Like duh..... I've only seen it once at Tarrant County where someone tried to visit and had a warrant out. She had to sit there in cuffs and watch all of us get visits while she waited for the transport car to downtown. I'd clear up any warrants before you go.

I think they do at counties but not at TDCJ but not sure.

well i know they do in county but dont know about the prisons thats what i am tryin to do is go see my boyfriend in beaumont tx. but i dont want to go if they are gonna keep me. lol

I had warrants for speeding tickets :eek: shocking isn't it! I just walked up and handed them my license. I figured, hey if they take me will at least be in the same county! No problems though, they just checked to make sure I was on the visiting list.

I don't think they allow inmates to drive in TDCJ .

my ex is currently in co jail down in texas, and hes got traffic stuff thats still outstanding. you would think with all the snooping around those pre sentancing investigators do, that they would have discovered the traffic stuff. Did they? NO> Geesh. If they cant be thorough, how can i exepct them to do their jobs and be fair when they sentance my friend. Yet another thing about TX i dont "get".

They have told me that i got warrants out but i played the innocent sweet girl that didnt know... they just told me to take care of them... but i dont think they really check i think its a random check cuz i havent yet taken care of my warrants and they have not said anything again about it..

TDCJ can and does check for outstanding warrants on visitors. It's a lot like going thru checks at the Mexico-US border. They might not do it every time, and they might let you slide on thru anyway, but the risk is always there.

I have never been questioned when Jimbo was in Harris County Jail (took that chance and got lucky) and I had warrants. When he was sentenced to TDCJ I still go visit with warrants and they have never checked and if they have they didn't say anything.
Just to make sure I gave them my ID instead of license..........

No TDCJ does not check for warrents. I know because i worked visitation many many times. You will be fine.

Well ladies I for one would not go to the Segovia Unit in Edinburg with warrants. That is the first unit that I have been to that keeps your id until the visit is over. I am sure they do check there otherwise there would be no point in them keeping them. Not to worry but the county jail is next to the Segovia and Lopez Units.

They don't keep your liscense to check for warrants. Here are the facts/reasons: 1. No prison has the time to take to check each person for warrants. That is an inneficient use of resources--in the sense that "why waste manpower when half the people wouldn't have any warrants turn up anyway." 2. Besides, other than county jails, PRISON units are not integrated in the same system as the DPS or City/County police, so they don't have the necessary means to even check your liscense. In other words--with VERY few exceptions, they CAN'T. 3. The reason Segovia (by the way: ALLLLL units are SUPPOSED TO) keeps your liscense is because it is PROTOCOL. They are required to keep your liscense as proof that you are there, and to see YOU take it, PERSONALLY, in hand when you leave. It's a way of keeping track of who is there and who has left. FOR PRISON SECURITY purposes. That's it. I have family members who both work at and live in prisons across the state. Trust me on this one.
