Everyone,

I've been home since December 10th. I was also in a behavioral health hospital from December 26-January 7th. Post-traumatic stress and paranoid schizophrenia largely as a result of 92 days in the hole.

It was actually worse than SHU, if that is possible.

Hey, I really didn't know they made this many tears. All for four lousy months of fed time for writing an email. Geez.

Anyway, this isn't about sympathy - I did what sent me to prison.

What it is about is an apology. I was a real jerk about how I communicated with others on this site after my release. I need to get over the tough love Dr. Phil routine and concentrate on my own healing.

For anyone I offended, I ask your forgiveness. For everyone, I ask for your prayers.

The book I am writing is now called: "Self-Surrender: A Life of Sprit After One of Ego".

Who knew this book would be such a b&*^& to write - largely because I had to live it.

Now, who wants to Celebrate Me Home, already! This time for real?

Hi Jeff,

I am sorry that you've had such a rough time and that you didn't get the chance to enjoy Christmas or New Year's Eve.

I am not one to judge anyone. I cannot imagine living in the SHU for 92 days. I was in the SHU at two different times during my ninety day sentence... but only overnight... and it was unpleasant... so 92 days must have been truly awful.

You never offended me. I think that you ought to give yourself a treat... a belated Christmas gift, maybe... and forgive yourself!!... and start over!!!

Welcome home, Jeff...

Yes... you're home!

WELCOME HOME! I don't remember ever being offended by anything you have said. You have my prayers. I am glad that you are a mature enough man to accept your mistakes and apologize. That takes strength and courage. I'm sorry that you had to go to the hole for 92 days. I am happy that you did take something positive from it. Please let us know when your book is published so that we can grab a copy.

MAY GOD BLESS YOU!!!

Jeff,

None of us are perfect. Prison is difficult, no matter if its 4 months or 4 years. And being in the hole of course makes it so much worse. Good luck with the book, can't wait to read it.

Hang in there, from one ex-inmate to another. It does get better..........

Yes, welcome home.

When my husband first arrived at prison, he looked out his window and saw what he thought were dog pens. He asked his cellie what the dogs were used for. His cellie said "Dogs? What dogs? Those cages are for the guys in the hole--sometimes they are allowed to go outside."
I don't see how anyone can come out of there and not be affected.

That is exactly what I refer to them as - Dog Pens. That is what they look like, just oversized ones. Nothing to do in them either, just breathe fresh air, walk around in circles or run around in circles, stand still and those are your options.

Just the thought of someone in there makes my skin boil. Those are for caged animals, not people.

My husband is presently in the hole and he tries not to go out to the dog pens, because he knows how I hate it for him. My husband is not an animal.

You are so right, prison does affect people in so many ways. It must be very difficult to keep ones sanity.

My very best to those who are strong enough to travel through it.
