Hi,

I am on the visitor's list of a penpal in Florence, but I want to get off and get on someone else's list. Is this hard to do? I understand you can't be on the list of two people there. Does this apply if they are in different units?

It is much easier for THEM to remove your name then it is for you to do it. Here is the site on visitation, and I included a quote from it for you....It's a hassle!

http://www.azcorrections.gov/Policies/911.htm#911.01

Visitation List Changes 1.6.1 An inmate may request the addition or deletion of approved persons to the Visitation List by submitting a Request to Change Visitation/Telephone Listing, Form 911-3P, to Visitation staff.

1.6.2 After an approved person has been entered on an inmate's visitation list, the person shall not be removed by the inmate for a minimum period of 90 days.

1.6.3 A person seeking voluntary removal from an inmate's Visitation List shall submit a notarized request for removal. All voluntary removals shall remain in effect for a minimum of 90 days. The person who was removed shall not be placed on any inmate's visitation list during this period.

1.6.4 All persons under visitation suspension shall require written approval for reinstatement as described in the initial application process.

your right cant be on more then on list
I just went through this unless it is immediate family and even then you need to make it aware that your on another list that is also family so that way when they check they dont think your pulling a fast one

call and find out who you need to send a letter to and write them and tell them his name and number and that you want to be removed from his list. give them about 2 weeks from when you mail it, then call up there and ask to speak with that person and see if they have removed you yet

Thank you. I will take your advice and do this. Here in NM you can be on more than one person's list so I didn't realize what a hassle it is in AZ.

It's deffinately easier for them to remove you... but if he has a problem with it (you seeing someone else), then he won't remove you. The best thing to do is call for sure, but you will have to go through the application process again, however if you mention that you have already been approved for another inmate it may not take as long. So far everyone I have dealt with in Florence has been SUPER cool and VERY helpful. But that's just been visitation staff and a couple of CO's. Good Luck!!!

I guess I can't be approved to visit the other inmate with my penpal already on my list there, right? So it looks like I'll have to go through the unit where the penpal is listed and ask how to get off his list. This just came up, so I don't know if the penpal would take me off. I doubt it.

then you have to wait another 90 days before being placed on the new inmates list

Be sure to have your letter requesting removal NOTARIZED! If you don't, they will reject it and you will have to write another letter, get it notarized and send it to them again- which will take longer to get off the list. It takes 90 days, minimum to get off one list and then you have to send in a new application to get on another list, wait the 90 days again while they ck your crim hx/background all over again, and add you to the list of that person.

Thank you so much for the info. I will call Monday and ask who to send the letter to.

For Florence housing units - send your letter requesting to be removed from an inmates visitation list to the appropriate unit the inmate is located at.

Hi

I had to write a letter and get it notarized, and send it in to request to be taken off the visitors list. They are supposed to notify me when I'm off.

Thanks, and I hope this will help someone else.

Hi,

I did send a notarized letter requesting removal and they did it and then sent me a letter of confirmation back. So, it's done. And yes, you can't be on another inmate's list for a minimum of 90 days. Just thought I'd let you all know in case anyone else has to do this.

that is great that you were able to get it done Kim... so now you will wait the 90 days and get on the other list, It is silly that they make you wait 90 days.. I know that they do it with the person whos list you just came off of but for a new list it is harsh..
for one you come off of they are just stopping people from reacting in anger as it would cause extra work to be put on and off a list
I am glad you got this done so quickly
