Can anyone tell me anything about Centinella? I know where it is (as far south as you can get and still be in the state...and we've already been to Pelican Bay, which is as far north, etc....making the rounds!) - but don't know stuff like is there a hospitality house with a van? Is there a county or city bus from Imperial or El Centro that goes there? Is visiting crowded or (because it's so far out there) not too bad? Is the weather really as awful as I hear?
Any input would be really appreciated!

There is a place on prison grounds called friends from the outside just call the prison and they will give you all the info for them 760 337 7900. visiting is like all the rest.. i have my husband and brother in law there.. i hate it cause if you go to early you can get kick out first come first out

Where do most of the wives (etc.) live? In Imperial or El Centro? I'm going to driving my daughter-in-law down mid-month and finding her a place to live, but it sure would help if I knew where other women in her position are living. Any suggestions?
