Okay I need help!!!!!
My wonderful little doggies have tore up my newly landscaped back yard! :( I can't afford to have it re-done and I am a perfectionist so that fact that my backyard is tore up is driving me insane!!!! So I have a few questionss.

1.) I had sawd laid a few months ago but unfortunetly do to my dog and her urge to dig I have a few holes where she dug up not only the grass but also the dirt. I just want to fill the hole and sprinkle some seed all over those areas. Will this work???? I am not going to let them on that side of the gate for awhile to insure the grass seed dosen't get eatin but is it okay to plant grass seed in the winter? I am in southern cali so no snow, some rain, and temps get as low as 50 degrees but rarely.

2.) are there any really pretty plants/flowers that stay pretty year round?

Thanks for anyone that can help! :)

Hi Jan...yes, you can fill the hole in and reseed...you'll want to find out what kind a grass is growing to match the seeds, otherwise you will end up with varied species and if your a perfectionist that will drive you crazy too...pack the hole good with dirt til its even with the rest of the yard, after picking...sprinkle about a quarter of an inch of top soil and then lay your grass seed down, i like those mixes they sell with fertilizer and seed...gotta keep it wet, though or it won't fill in good.

there are lots of plants that are either green year round or have an interesting look for the winter. but i couldnt give you a clue without knowing where you live...if i look at your profile i was lose all that i typed already...done that more than once...
