Judge says there is still hope for murderer

There were angry outbursts in court when a pastor was sentence to 12 years in jail for murdering his wife.

Cries of "It's a joke - he will come back to kill again" were heard on Tuesday after Judge Chris Botha said Absalom Dube's personal circumstances were favourable and that he was no threat to society.

That is really sad and must have been an emotionally charged and very difficult kind of case to handle, but the judge remained committed to his belief in that he did "not believe in sentencing people who could still be useful to society to a long term of imprisonment."
If Dube is truly remorseful for what he has done as it began to show during the trial through his torment - knowing he killed his praying wife in that fashion is something that will torment him all his life. He may leave prison in 12 years - but the prison of his mind will not be so easy to walk out of....
