I need to know in the state of Alabama how long a person has to be missing before you can file a missing person. This is an adult we are talking about.

I would appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks in advance.

I believe that its the same all over and officially it's 48 hours of no contact in order to file. Hope this helps.

Well in Ga there is no rule ---it can be fifteen minutes and you can file. Your mom can go to the grocery store and not return when you think she should and someone can file a missing person.

Supposedly in Alabama its 14 days!? I need to know.

If the person has a medical condition, I understand that the search can start immediately. If no medical condition it probably depends of the facts surrounding him/her being missing. But it was my understanding 24hr not 48 of 14 days. Anything can happen in 24 hour . Where did you get 14 days, that seem crazy!!! Let me know which county and I'll call the sheriffs office for you.

Okay sweety they said it depeands on the circumstances, You can file a report But it would not go through NCIC for 24hrs. The number I called is 334-298-6535. They did say someone would have to file and sign the report. She said to call 334-448-2800. I have free long distance and 3way let me know if you want to try calling. I'll be glad to help.

Sound sad, Sorry to hear about all the drama. Hope things work out for you and your man. Seems like you should be able to do something about the childs home life though. If you could get power of attorney over your mans stuff maybe you could get coustidy or something. I mean that is if thats something you are interested in. It would probably be a long process though. How old is this Girl anyway? Man I THOUGHT I HAD IT BAD. GOOD LUCK AGAIN!!

Hey his Mom might be able to do something. She has Grandparents right. That something they do in Alabama. Two of my friends have to let their daughters go everyother weekend to Grandmaws. Look into it. It might be easier for her to get Coustidy, and then sign her over to you. Let me know how everything works out 7 thats sooo sad I have 3 10b,8g,and6b. Could not emagine. Guess thats what drugs do to you though. You will be in my Prayers sweety. Good luck!!!
