David:
My son has been reviewed for Parole on 8 differeent occasions during his stay in the North Carolina DOC. He has never been interviewed by the Parole Commission. He has never been spoken to by the Parole Commission. The only thing that he has is for me and several of his friends to visit the Parole Commission to present at partition as to why we feel he should be paroled. He was sentenced under the Old Sentencing rules in NC which allow Parole. The new Rules Do Not. But in any case, they will never give him Parole. He has even filed a Law Suit against the Parole Board that is now being reviewed in Federal Courts. He never receives a reason for denial of Parole. He gets a form letter every year with the same reason "IT WOULD BE DISRESPECTFUL TO THE LAW" to release him.
What do you do to get them to listen? This is the one thing that gets me very discouraged. I have to really fight to keep my spirits up with this situation.
